Axle replacement or upgrade

My RV does not have axle tags, HL did tell me to look on the frame but, my rv is already at the shop. I have a bent axle, and want to know what y 'all recommend. I am sure I have 7k axles. Should I upgrade to 7200 lb or 8000 lb or just go back with 7k? I would like to get the MORryde IS but, I have to have something for now, plus I cannot get my rv to MORryde. Any input will be appreciated.

Have you talked to a truck axle alignment specialist? They normally bend trailer tube axles to align them with a heavy duty air jack and U hangar rig. You may be able to salvage your present axle for a lot less.
If you are planning the IS upgrade in the near future, I would use the cheapest option that will get me to Elkhart.

Thanks!!!! Great Idea, I never would have thought of that. I will call the shop to ask them about that option.

Had ours aligned twice. Both after crossing the country and back. The roads play havoc with the axles. Not a hard procedure for a truck/trailer alignment shop to do. Takes about three hours. Bending slowly and waiting to see if they will have some spring back. All done with laser alignment. Cost $356.00 in San Jose, CA. Should cost a lot less in Louisiana.

I disagree with the cheapest option. When I replaced my axle a few months ago, the trailer shop where I bought my axle showed me the difference between a Dexter axle and a Lippert axle. The Dexter axle had substantially thicker metal. The cost was not that much different. What if you do not get the IS system, what happens in the meantime? I have 7x axles and have gone thousands of miles. The reason I replaced my axle was a bearing loss. I have disk brakes and they use the bearings that are on 8X axles.
