We stayed @ trailer village last month and it was ok. I think the differences were hookups and trailer length restrictions. They are next to each other so location is not an issue. The campground is just that. Lots of tents. Good luck and have fun
Trace, thanks for the reply. We do have the atlas. I appreciate the perspective of a local person in addition to all other sources. 89alt is not listed as a truck route! But your saying its navigatable? Also the truck route on 12 going to Bryce stops west of the park then continues on the other...
TandT, wondering if a Landmark (13'3"+-) can make this trip? We are both a little longer and taller than both of you! I have a couple of other routes I would like to ask about if your open to it?
we are doing the "LOOP", Grand Canyon to Zion to Bryce to Capitol Reef to Moab for Arches and...
Heading out in late September with our 42' LM Key Largo....
Thinking about starting at the Grand Canyon (actual start will be in CA) up to Zion then Bryce. On to Capitol Reef then Arches and Canyonlands. Which route would you take between and around these? Or perhaps, which routes not to take...
We started our LM journeys with a 2500. Truck pulled it just fine ( airbags for the rear suspension for leveling). Then I educated myself on CA DOT laws. Now we have a 3500 DRW.
We love our HensleyTM BD3 (Up to 18K trailer weight and 3.5K pin weight). Or if you want something with a little more capacity there is the TS3 ( 20k trailer and 4500 pin).
More info on both here: http://www.trailersaver.com
These incorporate air bags and shocks to absorb bumps in the road...
You can count on two more noobs joining you. Just made our reservation. We are looking forward to meeting y'all. Other than what is listed in the first post, is there anything special we need to know?
Fords are the most expensive trucks out there. One way to determine the value is to use Edmunds.com (or similar) to build the truck on line (you will need to have all the options to enter the info). There you will be able to calculate the dealers invoice as well as the MSRP and the true market...
We have only had our Key Largo for three weeks, but I just saw the new landmark control panel, and must have one. This really is what the trailer should have. To me there is a night and day difference in appearance. How does one "upgrade"?
For those that have been to one or both, which one is/was better for you? We are going in Feb, with the new LM KL, and I have not yet outfitted her completely for dry camping/boondocking. So we are looking at both Furnace creek and stovepipe wells as they both advertise full hookups and take...
