    Should we upgrade

We purchased ours new in 2016. We’ve had lots of little issues over those 5 years of full-time living. It seemed like a few years later rv sales were booming and manufacturers were having a hard time finding qualified laborers. I seem to recall that in the summer of 2017 Heartland was just...

As Dave said, these have the standard shackles. My bolts for the MorRyde heavy duty shackles are 3-3/8” where they show 3” in length from the bolt head to the end of the threads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bearing work - what to look for?

Thanks all, we bought a Timkin bearing kit from Southwest Wheel. https://www.southwestwheel.com/p-4610-timken-bearing-kit-for-42-spindle-8-hole.aspx I also bought 4 double-lip Dexter seals from Amazon, since the ones in the kit were single lip. Dexter 01003600 Grease Seal...

Bearing work - what to look for?

Decided to replace all the bearings since it was overdue for a repack. First wheel off, looking at the spindle, are these areas of concern? Not sure what is serious. We’ve not done this before. The surface of the spindle feels very smooth. We plan to replace the bearings and races, as well as...

Added old alarm panel and sensors to the RV, couldn't help myself. Go Control is the panel.

Nice! We use SimpliSafe which is great for the Rv, with water sensors, freeze sensors, door/window/compartment sensors, cameras, motion sensors, glass break detectors, smoke and CO detectors. Not cheap to invest in all its options, but totally customizable as to what you want to use. Control...

    wet bolt kit

Not that easy, the CorrectTrack spring hangers have a horizontal slot, not a single hole, for the bolt through the spring eye. Without the CorrecTrack plate, you cannot use a standard bolt without it potentially moving. (Been there, done that.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dometic CCC2 E1 Error - No Furnace Control

Advice on purchasing used travel trailer.

Just a note, water heaters are nearly impossible to come by at this time. A shortage in manufacturing and high demand due to a longer winter and unprecedented freezing in Texas caused a lot of damage to Rv water systems this February. Dometic is also changing the design, which I was warned...

Having "Issues" getting internet service to work in 2020 Bighorn 32 GK.

Cable connections are one thing RV manufacturers don’t do well and don’t test before sending the rigs out, it appears, as I’ve seen literally hundreds of “cable issues” on forums and Facebook for years. If it were me, and we almost did this, find a convenient place inside to add an...

Having "Issues" getting internet service to work in 2020 Bighorn 32 GK.

One of the Rv parks we lived at briefly had Comcast Cable Internet available. I just routed the cable from their connection up through the corner of a slideout, then to my router. Worked great! When we traveled, we did have to remove the cable before retracting the slide. Sent from my iPhone...

    Hail Storm Damage Advice

As mentioned, we had half-dollar sized dings in our roof, Progressive issued an estimate (full replacement) based on my photos and a walking video of the roof. replacement roof with RV Flex amour

Well, the application has to be in a pretty controlled environment, with a lot of prep beforehand (covering items that you don’t want coated, treating surfaces so they accept the chemicals, taping edges carefully, etc.) It also takes a lot of training and expertise to apply correctly, with only...

    Lock replacement on exterior storage

RVLock, LLC! They truly stand behind their products. I had a 4-year-old lock quit working in freezing weather, so I figured it might be due to batteries dying in the cold. Nope, batteries didn’t solve it. I texted with RVLock on Facebook, and they recommended me swap the control module with...

Mounted and balanced! We paid a local tire shop 5 minutes from us to do this. Paid $25 a tire and we brought them there ourselves, 2 and 3 at a time, after removing them from our rig. Kinda pricy, but easier than taking the rig there to have it done. We used level-up and were hitched to the...
