Dual Alternator Option on Tow Vehicle

You really do not need dual alternators, just go with the higher amp single. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD and pull a 2014 Landmark with residential refer and have never had a problem with the single alternator keeping the coach batteries fully charged when traveling.

Question on operation of Anderson Valve

Good to know it actually does work that way and it is not a bad valve. I am glad it will work that way. Would hate to have to go outside to switch the valve if the city water went off during bad weather or worse, while taking a shower.

Question on operation of Anderson Valve

If this is how it is supposed to work then someone from the factory plumbed mine wrong. I can pump from the fresh water tank without changing the valve to normal. I have had my Landmark for almost two years with the Anderson valve and used the pump many times and have NEVER changed the valve...

Question on operation of Anderson Valve

You do not have to change the Anderson valve to use the pump when there is no water pressure on the city inlet. At least not on mine. When the city pressure returns I just switch the pump off. Even if I forget to turn the pump off, the pressure from the city water keeps the pump from kicking...

    6pt leveling and wheel chalks

Same here. I always use regular chocks for safety but the X-Chocks that fit between the tires are not needed.

    Dry Ice

Unless Heartland has changed the setup since I bought my coach last year, you actually have a dedicated battery for the residential refer. I would not turn off the inverter to the refer since the battery for the coach itself (lights, furnace, etc..) is a different battery. You can check to be...

Improved how my Residential Refrigerator is Secured in the Slide

Jim, Something the factory might to look at also is the fact that the floor in the slide that the residential refer sits on is not solid but composed of strips of wood that look to be glued together. I recently ran the kitchen slide out and the front right corner of the slide tore a hole in...

    Air hitches

I use the Hensley TS3 with my Landmark and love it. If you have a lighter weight coach the Hensley BD3 would be a good choice also. Very solid built hitches and great performance.

Dometic Heatpump Not Cooling - No Manuals

I have a 2014 Key Largo with dual Dometic Heatpumps and this past weekend the unit over the living room started blowing only cool air, not cold. It runs for a few minutes then the compressor cuts off and then a minute later the fan cuts off. After a couple of minutes it repeats the process...

How many of you travel with a full fresh water tank?

I always travel with the fresh water tank at least half to three quarters full and have never had any problems over the years so far.

Which pin box & hitch do you recommend?

Re: Which pin box &hitch do you recommend? I agree that Hensley is the way to go. I have the Hensley TS3 hitch and will never worry with an air pinbox again. There is a big difference between an air pinbox and an air hitch. Granted, air hitches cost more but well worth the money IMHO. And...

LED bulbs under awning going out

Yes, ours is doing the same thing under the main awning. And like yours, the strip under the side out awning is still straight. I have taken pictures but have not had time to contact Heartland yet.

    Landmark TPMS

I also have had this same issue since purchasing my Landmark in May 2013. I thought that was just the way the system worked as well. At any given time I have one tire not showing and three that are. Rarely do I have two not showing but almost always at least one and it can be any one of the...

Pull the breakaway cable when parked?

Bad idea. That will shorten the life of magnets and drain your 12v coach battery if something happens to the shore power (i.e. tripped breaker) when not being used. Also, the brakes are not "locked" when pulling the breakaway cable in a stationary position. There has to be some movement to...

Ditto that. They sent me a 3 meter extension for my antenna the same day I called. Three days later I was installing it and it has worked fine ever since.

    What did I do wrong

I agree. I have been using this method for years and never had ice in the lines...but then it does not get in the single digits much in my area as it does in others. Using compressed air before filling with the antifreeze should work great.

sleeping on bed with slides closed

That is why we chose the layout of the 3600RE Bighorn we had and now the 2014 Key Largo. Since we stay at rest areas a lot it makes it easy to get to all essential areas just for...

Pressure for Firestone air bags, Not Goodyear. :)

Re: Pressure for Goodyear air bags I know every airbag manufacturer has their "official" specs for how much air pressure to run under various conditions of being loaded or unloaded and every driver usually comes up with their own optimal pressure. What I have found over the years is not to...

    Yeti Package

    Confused over AC setup

I had dual units installed by Heartland when I ordered my 2014 Key Largo. I never understood why Heartland installed two stats in a zoned capable system either. The second stat should have been a simple temp sensor and the single stat would serve as the second temp sensor and run both units...

To do or not to do Slide Out Toppers!

I will always have slideout toppers. Helps greatly in keeping debris off the top of the slides so as not to damage the seals when closing the slides. Also helps keep the rain from finding a way in around a bad or torn seal around the top of the slides. If the top of the slide is not level or...

    Dual Honda 2000's Not Enough

I did finally check both my Honda 2000 gennies and they are working fine. While I have not had time lately to work on this problem, I did narrow it down to the surge protector that came installed in my Landmark. I took my Progressive EMS out of the loop and it is the surge protector shutting...

Outside Shower Quick Connect Not Connecting

I have a 2014 Key Largo with the quick connect outside shower hose. Has anyone had a problem connecting the hose to the connection in the UDC? Mine will not connect no matter how hard you try. The hose has the male connection and the female end is mounted in the UDC with the hot and cold...
