We just got a new 2011 3500 gmc with 373 gears, our trip last week and this week traveling 100km (about 62 mph) we got 14.5 miles /gal that is 19.3 litres per hundred km, there was only 1 hill that it dropped back into 5th gear. This did not happen with our 07 2500 on the same trip.

On my 2003 GMC I got the lifetime and transfered to the 2007, I am getting 2011 nexr month and plan to transfer it there too. If you negotiate with them they will do just about anything.

I upgraded to 8k, I felt that running 7k axels on a trailer that had 16200 gvw was too close and only would lead to problems. I have no intention of carring more, just like the idea of having the safety margin.
