    Dual Pane windows

I do not have dual panes in my 3055 and I have not experienced any significant condensation problems. I have spent a lot of winter time in our BH and only experienced window condensation one time in Gulf Shores and the humidity was about 90% and somewhat warm (just prior to a cold front moving...

    Microwave Problems

I am now on my third Sylvania microwave. I complained and requested a Dometic for the third replacement but Heartland sent another Sylvania. My warranty is now past so I will obviously use this one until it craps out and then have to buy something different.

    kitchen counter extension 3055 RL

Mine broke also...............I'm not sure if I'm going to replace them as I have not really used it much. In its original position it was mounted so much lower than the counter top that it was more awkward than useful. I had thought I would remount it higher but if its $50 for a replacement...

    I need a refresher course

Bob The low point drains only drain the water lines. The gravity tank drain is on the off door side coming through the belly. It has a valve on it. I have difficulties draining my tank also. It tends to develop a sagging bottom so the nose of the trailer has to been lowered significantly to...

    Doran vs. PressurePro

I am considering purchasing a tire monitoring system. Doran has come out with their own system this year that is comparable to the Pressure Pro system. Has anyone had any experience with the new Doran system or can anyone provide a comparison between the two? Guess I should have read previous...

    Water Leak Issues

Morganm12 I overfilled my kitchen holding tank once (trickling in freezing temps) and it leaked badly around the sink trap joints. Easy to get to for tightening......shower would be a different story! OH, did I mention that trickling a faucet overnight will definately fill a tank!!!!!!!! Bad...

    Propane leak

BlairV I had the same problem. The leak (smell) appeared to be in the regulator compartment area so the dealer worked on it without success......I then changed the regulator and still leaked. After sniffing (literally) around connections, I found the leak was a cracked (over torgued) brass...

    fuel milage

I'm really envious of all the MPG's that everyone is still getting. I was getting 11-12 pulling my BH but the past two trips this winter the best I got was 9.5 MPG. Both of these trips I could only find Ultra low sulphur were as I was burning low sulphur when I was getting the 11-12...

    Slider Hitch

I have the slider in my truck but I have never seen a situation that I need it. I do use in on occasion when backing into a tight turn (my driveway) just because the trailer is more responsive to the truck. I have backed into the driveway with the slider in both positions and have never come...

Poll: Overall Happiness/General Satisfaction with your Heartland Trailer

I agree completely with what JP said earlier. We have enjoyed our unit and our dealer (RV's for Less) has been great; however, its whats beneath the surface that concerns me. Now that our unit is a little over a year old quality issues keep surfacing. For instance, last week I noticed that...

LaurieK Are you by chance in Island Retreat? If so, I was one of those Bighorns you spotted. We sadly pulled out on Sunday and returned to Tennessee. If the Sundance that was in that park was you, maybe we will see you at the Rally in Branson......one of the other Big Horns that was in the...

    Something Everybody Needs To Check!

Steve, This is an apparent problem with our units. At the Southeast ralley I had the same problem as well as a Landmark unit. There has been many postings on this forum about this problem. I replaced both of mine with fiber self locking nuts and used loc-tite with them. Note, that the self...

    Diesel MPG decreasing..

Heading out tomorrow and I will be trying a fuel additive to see if my mileage improves from my December trip. If it does, I think that will be proof that it is the ULSD that is causing our drops in mileage. Will keep everyone adivsed.

    Battery Charge?

If you are running the furnace with any frequency I would not look for more than a 24 hour period on one battery.......without the furnace and using energy for just lights, you could look at several days. Be careful about pulling the battery down too low; you will not be able to get the slides...

    Furnace Problem

Kashman, I had some issues with my propane that seems to mimick yours. I found a cracked brass nipple where the flexible hose joins the galvanized propane pipes so check these if you are still having leak issues.....you should be able to smell the propane around this area. As far as the half...

    Diesel MPG decreasing..

I've seen a definate drop from 2 - 3 mpg since I have had to burn the ULSD. My mileage towing the BH has always been around 12/mpg and my last trip over Xmas (900 miles) I only averaged 9.25 mpg. This was my first trip that I had to run ULSD totally.

    Apollo convection oven

I am on my third microwave. Heartland replaced both while under warranty and now I am hoping this one will last; although, I'm not holding my breath. I was in J.C. Penny's the other day looking at the Cooks brand previously mentioned and it is currently on sale for $99.

Is Published Length of 3055RL Correct?

As with all 5vers, what exactly does the published length represent? Ironically, the storage lot where I store my 3055 just did a audit of the units in their place (they charge by the foot). They sent me a letter stating that they was going to charge me for 36' and the measurements was from...

    Towing the Blue Ridge Parkway

Dusty, Probably a smart decision.........atleast unless someone else attest to making the trip without incidence. By the way, I would suggest that your rig is closer to 13'; mine is. I crunched the A/C shroud on my previous motorhome in a low underpass; so, I dont even think about going...

    Towing the Blue Ridge Parkway

Hi Dusty, I admire your desire to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway.........it is a beautiful drive; albeit a slow and time consuming one. I was born and raised at the foot of the Peaks of Otter in Bedford, Va. which is also at the foot of the Parkway. I spent most of my teenage life running that...

    Digital vs. analog broadcasts

"Unpublished" Option for G-Rated Tires/7000 lb Axles

GaryB, I'm also a partimer and I have the 3055 with the standard 6000 lb axle and E rated tires. I have put about 8,000 miles on the unit in a years time and "knock on wood" no issues. As a partimer, it is unlikely that you will overload the unit, so an upgrade to the axles and tires, in my...

How would rising gas prices effect your camping?

This poll may be more representative if it were split and fulltimers had a poll and partimers had a poll. If fulltiming, you certainly would not camp less.........the RV is home, you just may move around less. Nonfulltimers are split between retired parttimers and working weekenders. I am a...

How would rising gas prices effect your camping?

The high fuel prices are certainly reducing the number of trips that I make on an annual basis. I will...

    winterizing

Luckhat12 My BH also has a valve in the line from the tank to the pump that needs to be closed also or the pump just sucks air. In short, to winterize I have the three hot water heater bypass valves, one valve between tank and pump (close it), and one valve on antifreeze pickup tube (open it).

12 Degrees & Kitchen water froze.

I can also attest to the "trickling a faucet" thing is not a good idea! Last winter I tried the "trickling" and in my infamous wisdom, I drained the grey tank and closed the valve overnight to keep the sewer hose from freezing up. Who would have thought that a "trickle" would fill up a holding...

My furnace acted the same way last winter the next morning just after filling both propane tanks. Apparently there was moisture in the tanks and the regulator must have frozen up. Took hair dryer to regulator and all was normal.

    Hot Water Value

Slarsenkem, You should still have water flowing out of your hot water faucets. The bypass valve just "bypasses" the hot water tank so you do not have to fill it with antifreeze (12 gallons worth) before pumping it into the water line. If its not flowing your lines will not be protected.

    Heat to the underbelly

    Backing unit
