Thanks for reminding me. It's time to dump our four ice trays' worth of ice into the icemaker bin and refill the trays with water.

Tech Question - Apple TV & Direct TV or Uverse Streaming App

Do you even need to provide a wifi signal to the Apple TV just to airplay the stream from one phone across bluetooth? (I haven't tried it, as we have a 3rd gen Apple TV). You might find that the streaming app itself has to support bluetooth airplay as a function (iOS would provide the actual...

EVENT: Heartland Owners Camp-Out: TX, Lake Brownwood - 9/30/2016 to 10/2/2016

This is a great campground for star-gazing. When I saw the Milky Way stretching from horizon to horizon the first night, I had to double-check my star gazer app to make sure it wasn't just a band of clouds. Amazing! Thanks for a fun campout! We had a great time.

    Headed to Elkhart tomorrow

I-465 is relatively easy. Also, when we come through there on the way to Goshen, we typically head towards the northeast side and take I-69 to Fort Wayne, then US 33 to Goshen.

EVENT: Heartland Chapter Rally: TN, Chattanooga - 9/23/2016 to 9/25/2016

Of course the campground is not very full yet, but I've been getting pretty good service from the campground wi-fi for work and for updating my iPad last night. Not sure if anyone else has tried. We typically don't even bother, but today is the last day of our data plan month and we're already a...

    Decal issues

This place up in Bremen, Indiana seems to get good reviews: Mike's Custom Painting I ran across them a couple years ago on the RV Dreams blog when they left their several year old rig there to get painted. [Blog Entry] Back in 2014, a 35-40' fifth wheel ran about $9,500 for the entire job...

West Yellowstone, MT to Pacific City, OR

We travel that stretch of I-90 every year to and from Washington. Campground recommendations include the KOA in Deer Lodge, MT, the campground at the Crystal Gold Mine in Kellogg, Idaho or the Wolf Lodge Campground outside of Coeur D'Alene. I-90 is a pretty easy drive through the mountains of...

    Let me vent a little....

When we traded in our first rig, the dealer only asked two questions: 1. How many miles are on the trailer, if known? 2. Is there any external delamination. Based on that information and the fact I told them the rig was currently sitting with a failed bearing on one wheel, they gave me a...

Does anyone know if I can order a cabinet door for this?

If you order anything, don't forget to let them know you are an Owners' Club member - should get 10% off (if I remember correctly).

how many miles per year do you tow your camper

We didn't travel as much the first part of this year. We have been sitting still a bit longer. On the other hand, we're currently in South Dakota, heading to Kentucky, then Tennessee, then Texas, then probably Clarksville, Indiana (our selling dealer, time for the one year check-up), then down...

Interesting News about the Apple iPhone 7

We recently replaced our iPhone 5s's with iPhone SE's. We were sorta dreading the larger phone footprint and were pleased when they announced the SE and that is was essentially the same size as the 5/5s (re-use cases, etc.) but with most of the internals of the 6s series.

how many miles per year do you tow your camper

OK, we're full-timers, so not what you were looking for but might be interesting to some. 2013 - 20,742 2014 - 21,225 2015 - 21,243 2016 - 11,447 as of today Give or take a mile or two, of course. :D

    Insurance. Are you properly protected?

We, too, have our 3950FB at a consignment lot. At the time we were taking it down there, I checked and found that the insurance it was currently covered under (Good Sam via National General) does not offer consignment coverage. We had put our current rig under Blue Sky insurance, so I checked...

    The things you see...

We were following a really nice Class A diesel pusher towing a fairly nice car today. I watched him ride his brakes all the way down the eastbound side of Snoqualmie Pass on I-90. I didn't even have to touch my brakes while using my Ford's exhaust brake. I would assume these higher-end Class A's...

    The little engine that could?

Looks like a gasser. Doesn't appear to have the larger trumpet-like tailpipe end that a GM diesel would have.

Did I mess up my tank?

I'll try dropping it a few times and try it again when the other tank gets low (we have an empty and a pretty full tank). We haven't had to use propane except for occasional stove use, but we're semi-boondocking over the holiday weekend and the temps will be in the low 50's the next few nights...

Did I mess up my tank?

Took one of my 30 lb. propane tanks to go fill it. Since we were stopping several places, I put the empty tank on its side in the truck bed and closed my cover. When I stopped (as my last stop) at the gas station that refills propane tanks, the guy hooked everything up and couldn't get gas to...

    New 2017 super duty numbers....DROOL!!

Ours is 11 months old and has almost 34,000 miles on it. Being full-time and having only the truck as a daily driver racks them up. Our last one had 70k on the clock at two years when it was totaled in our accident last fall.

    Camping near Asheville, NC

The Asheville West KOA is a nice campground. We stayed there on an overnight in the height of the fall colors. It is close to the interstate and there is an overpass nearby that has a rough transition, so all the trucks tend to thump, thump, thump over it all night. Didn't bother us, though.

    USA RV maps

We put on a state if we've stayed there at least one night. Not necessarily in our RV, though. We flew to Hawaii for our anniversary and stuck it on our map when we got back. Though many people swear by traveling to Alaska in their RV, we've decided on doing a combination cruise and inland bus...

    2008 big country weight

Looking at the 2015 F350 tow ratings for the 6.2L gas engine, they show around 11,800-12,200 lb max trailer for fifth wheel towing for the 3.73 axle and 14,800-15,200 lb max trailer for fifth wheel towing for the 4.30 axle. I guess the first order of business is to find out what axle you have...

We'll be towing our BC over the Rockies here in the next few days. Though we've done it a couple times with the 2013, I'm really looking forward to it in the 2016. The exhaust brake is definitely an improvement over the 2013.

    My wife Carol Mitchell

Our heartfelt prayers go out to you. I lost my father and my step-father both in their early 50's and my mother left us too soon as well. For those reasons, my wife and I decided to full-time now instead of waiting for retirement.
