    Leaking sink

My last plumbers putty repair lasted a year but with almost no use. I'm buying the RVers goop and will decide when the next leak happens Thanks poosu

    Broken Bed

The hinge screws pulled out of the moving side of the bed board. There is no room to add thickness under the particle board where it pulled out. Storing the coach in a remote location is a pain I can't go look at or try anything. The counterweight cylinders have a piece of 2x2 to attach to...

ATF: North Country - black water tank cleaning

Good suggestions. Does the Voltera gate valve replace the existing valve or is it downstream? Thanks poosu

ATF: North Country - black water tank cleaning

Thanks for the quick response. My tank is a straight shot under the toilet so that is easy. I'll meditate on the rotating wand. We have not stored ours with any fluid in it. We are in Florida also so winterizing is not an issue.

ATF: North Country - black water tank cleaning

I would like to know how the black water tank cleaning system on my 2010 North Country 27 bhs works. All I know is there is a garden hose attachment on the side of the coach. When you hook a hose to it, more stuff does come out of the tank. Is this a rotating device internal to the tank? Do...

ATF: North Country - Water damage under slides

I am very grateful for this thread. I was unaware of this problem, but when I checked my slide I could see the deterioration of the plywood beginning. I ended up putting an aluminum angle over the plywood end and screwing it to the plywood from the bottom. Countersunk the screws into the...

    Leaking sink

No one is probably looking at this any more, but the problem isn't at a threaded fitting, it's the seating surface between the sink and the sink drain basket. Is this a place for RVers GOOP?

    Broken Bed

Sorry this takes so long to reply, but for those who have repaired the bed board, did you reinstall the counterweight cylinders of just leave them off and hold the bed up manually?

    Broken Bed

Can't do this. The both side of the bed board, the stationary and the hinged part are on top of a 2x4.

    Leaking sink

I see I need to add RVers GOOP to my supplies. Never heard of it. Surprised Camping World didn't recommend it, but thanks.

    Broken Bed

Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, but can you buy plywood in a size that allows a single piece bed board? It looks like it's bigger than 4 feet in both directions. I store the trailer remotely and can't measure it.

    Leaking sink

On our last trip we were about a week out and found water in with the utensils in our top drawer under the sink. Our sink drain had worked loose for the second time. First time was over a year ago on another trip. First time I took it out and re seated it with plumbers putty. This time I...

    Broken Bed

Our latest issue happened while packing to head home last weekend. We lifted the bed to store something under it and when we closed it I felt the wood under the mattress shift. We opened it again and the hinges had ripped out of the particle board. After crawling in and checking I thought it...

    Towmax tires.

On 9/9/13 I wrote on this thread that I had had no problems with my Towmax tires. Just after that we left on a trip around the SE states. Got 150 miles from home with my wife driving and BOOM. The newest (because it was the spare for half of the trips) of the remaining Towmax tires blew. Put...

    Why Tires fail

ST tires are only rated to 65 MPH? I wonder why the guy who went over all the stuff on our trailer when we bought it new never mentioned that. His spiel was overwhelming but neither my wife of I remember anything about speed. Seems like safety items that newbies have no way of knowing should...

    Towmax tires.

I really have had no problems with the Towmax tires that came on my trailer. Two major trips from Florida out to Yellowstone and Arches NP. Maybe 15,000 total miles of towing. Trailer is stored 10 mo. out of the year with the tires covered. After reading some horror stories, I gave them a...

    heater won't come on

We had lots of trouble with our heater. It seemed to work OK on shore power but not on battery power. After 2 attempts to get it fixed under warranty, the technician found that the pressure regulating valve out at the tanks was set incorrectly at the factory. What seemed like an electrical...

ATF: North Country - Water Leak into front bedroom

Thanks for the help. I didn't look at that joint. I quess from your reply that you did not need to remove any interior paneling to dry it out

ATF: North Country - Water Leak into front bedroom

On our second cross country trip we towed through a steady rain at 50-60 mph for 3 hours. When we got ready for bed we found clothes on the shelf of the right closet and material in the cubby at the head of the bed quite damp. No noticeable water anywhere. We don't store any liquids in that...

    Bad brakes on new camper

When we took delivery of our new 2010 27 bhs last August, we noticed that one of the tires was flat spotted. That is a patch of tread ground off. The dealer replaced the tire and checked the brake on that wheel and said we were OK. As very first time RVers we were satisfied and took off on a...

Water collecting on undercarriage barrier on 27bhs

This issue turned out to be a crack on the top of the fresh water tank. It was found when we took the camper in for it's final warranty service. The tank was replaced under warranty. Interestingly, the replacement tank was not an exact fit and the technician had to make several adjustments to...

ATF: North Country - undercarraige diagram

At this point I'm not trying to find anything, but I'm sure I will sometime in the future and it would be good to know where things were. Hence the need for the diagram.

ATF: North Country - undercarraige diagram

Our North Country 27 bhs has an undercarriage barrier which I beleve is standard. As a result it's impossible to see where anything is located under the coach. Is it possible to get a diagram or picture of the equipment placement with the undercarraige barreir off?

ATF: North Country - tire questions for 27 bhs

Based on the replies, as I understand them, the answers to my original questions are: Tire inflation Unlike automoble manufacturers, who work with tire manufacturers to calculate the proper tire inflation for a fully loaded vehicle, Heartland elects to have the owner inflate the tires to their...

ATF: North Country - tire questions for 27 bhs

My wife and I have gone through the volumes on information provided with our trailer and while we are instructed to properly inflate the tires, we can't seem to find the recommended pressure. I don't think the maximum allowed pressure which is stamped on the tire is desireable. Also, should...

two batteries for a 27 bhs

I think cold weather camping with no electrical hook up is forcing us to a two battery set up. Given the limited space, has anyone come up with a two battery set up for this model?

Water collecting on undercarriage barrier on 27bhs

I really appreciate your response. Our unit is stored in a remote location so I can't check it right away. However I'm wondering how water can accumulate on top of the barrier if the drain hose projects through the barrier

Water collecting on undercarriage barrier on 27bhs

I thought 27bhs was a model description. The only other ID we have on the camper is North Country LS. Can you tell me how to find the vent to the belly skin (which I think is what I called the undercarriage barrier).

    ATF: North Country -

The battery is able to run the blower and lights. It's probably somewhat discharged but not dead. I'd think the furnace would run as long as the blower opperates. Does anyone know if this is true?

    ATF: North Country -

On nights on battery power where the temperature drops into the 30's, the furnace would work fine until about 3 AM then it would start and the blower would go on but it never got warm. The blower just keeps blowing until it is shut off manually. When hooked to a 110 power source the furnace...

Water collecting on undercarriage barrier on 27bhs

Several times during our last trip we noticed a large amount of water coming out between the undercarriage barrier and the frame when we went up the first hill leaving a campsite. No rainy weather or leaking tanks were noticed. We do like to keep our fresh water tank full.
