Setting up hitch for pulling TT ?

Your first step should be assuring that you are pulling level, nose up or down angles on the trailer will aggravate sway. If your hitch height is set correctly it will make it easier to set sway bars as well, but they do take a little umpf. When we had our last TT we were set up with 3 links...

    "CURT" Fifth Wheel Hitches ?

Re: CURT Customer Service... Q20 slider, was the same price so figured it was better to have and not need, than to need and not have. Have never used the slide feature as the pin cover hits my tailgate. I really like the fact that I can leave the hitch in and still close my box cover, the...

ordered our 2015 RW 425 RT today, but have hitch questions

We have the slide hitch, never use it, in fact we can't because of the pin cover. If we try and slide back, the pin cover hits the tailgate when the unit is straight. We have NEVER needed it though, and we take our trailer many places most wouldn't take their trucks.

Lesson learned - listen! Don't close off your furnace registers.

Re: Lesson learned - listen! We have used our RV down to -30, and found the heat needed a little attention, well to be correct, the whole system needed some adjustments. Firstly the cold air return was a dismal set up at best, secondly the area in the stairs (with drawers) had no insulation...

    Cross Border Warranty ?

Lucey We purchased our Heartland last April from south of the border, talked with a rep prior to buying and was told that any authorized Heartland service dealer would be able to do the work here in the great white north. He also informed me that it might be a painful process as the dealer...

    Saying Good-bye

Thank you everyone for the replies, the hardest part is my girls, we lost both our snowshoe siamese (17) and the springer (14) yesterday, gone together, both with abdominal cancer. My daughters do not remember a time that they were not around, and it is tearing them up. We have a pup from a...

    Saying Good-bye

Today I played god, I looked into the eyes of my best friend of 14 years, and told him it was time. No more will we chase pheasants in the field, or sit around a campfire, no more will I feel your unconditional love, or just sit and scratch your belly. It tears me up to hold the power of your...

    Staying in Non-Campgrounds??

We have done it a few times, we had a list of Walmarts that allowed and those that did not. We always checked with the duty manager, and shopped the stores. We have only had a few bad nights where the local hooligans thought it was fun to race around and around the trailer honking their horn. We...

AC and furnace run at the same time???

We had close to the same issue, but it was the heater that was causing the A/C to come on. The furnace came on and would not shut off, once it got too hot the A/C kicked in. We found that the thermostat wire for the furnace had a short, but there was an extra one in the wire loom so I just...

    Camping off the Beaten Path

Hay All, Just curious as to how many people take their Bighorns off the beaten path, by this I mean boondocking away from any organized facilities. We spend almost all but one week random camping in the back woods of the rocky mountains, fifty miles of gravel and unimproved roads one way. No...

    Help with new Big Horn

It's a lot like losing your virginity, you can get all kinds of advice and suggestions, but eventually you'll have to develop your own groove and do what works for you. 2011 Duramax Questions

I have been told they didn't get a break, but are paying the EPA fine until they get the urea onboard. Could just be speculation, but I was sure that all oil burners were to on urea by 2011 production. On a side note, the cheapest price I've found for the urea was at a Cumins dealer.

    Mice wrecking havoc

In our unit, I popped the bottom shelf up, it was only held down with a few narrow crown staples. Sealed the holes and remounted the shelf (1/8" wood) with my narrow crown stapler( I'm sure a few finish nails would work). There was a mile of space around those pipes.

    Slam door latches

I found that while loading the basement I set something heavy on the catch, this caused the latch to not seat properly, and bingo it popped open. I just gave the loop a little tweak upwards and all was good again. You might want to check this possibility out.

Bed room closet sliding door latches

I know the feeling, the little woman broke one of ours the first time she opened the closet. Bought some spares, and now we are REALLY careful unlatching them. Polished aluminum or stainless steel would be nice and durable, might have to take one over to a machine shop and see if its possible.

A new direction with a Rod and Custom Shop

    New RVIA Canadian Seal Change

A new direction with a Rod and Custom Shop

I am curious, are you lining the building? I have a little experience with these buildings, and when the girts are hung with the interior leg up, they collect alot of dust, as well as giving the birds a better roosting spot if the doors are left open. Sorry I missed the updates on the building...

    New RVIA Canadian Seal Change

There are NO Canadian manufacturers left, so I see no point in trying to protect them. As far as the dealers go, I'm sure they are not, short of shipping and import fees, paying anymore than their US counter parts, just being greedy. I also can not see ANY manufacturer changing just the north...

    Is this dealer kidding me?!!

I for one like to support the local guy, but I'm not going to bend over for him. What should I look for in a Generator?

You'll need to decide what you need from it first, what you plan to run off it and where. You might want to find the quietest model possible if you plan on staying in campgrounds, but if you are going to do some truly random camping this is not as big of concern. Weight is another major issue to...
