Question... I have noticed that my domestic 2852 is running on gas but not ac. I left the fridge on after a trip assuming we were going out the following week but plans changed. Shut the fridge off and opened the doors just to find mold. I bought a new dinosaur board hoping that would get it...
My sundance sits in my machine shed. Is it ok to run the a/c if we are working in there? Obviously there isn't much airflow across the unit so will that be a problem? I can put a fan up there to blow air across. Do I run the risk of freezing up? I have gone camping many times when there...
Thanks MTPockets. I should be ok then. sometimes I buy things and fail to realize that they may need to be adjusted to the specific application. Luckily I am in central Illinois and the altitude changes shouldn't effect things!!! hahahah!
long story but tracing down what I thought were water gremlins but maybe the gremlins are only in my head. Anyway, a buddy of mine and I were going through the water system and verifying no leaks. Confirmed the pump turned on and off properly and stayed off when all valves were closed. I...
Hey guys... Sorry for not getting back. The project got put on hold for a while but I just finished it. I ended up using 3/16x3" and 1/4x3" flat steel to support it again. There is plenty of beef now! We also cut and fixed the non functioning vent and poor vent line from the factory. We made...
Wow....disheartening when you spend hours removing the underpinning just to find water all over the basement of your RV. I noticed some water coming out from under the rv this weekend. I knew it wasn't going to be fun but I removed all the underpinning and foil insulation just to find the most...
Thank you for the advise. Simple enough! I'll do as you say and pray it all works. I've done it many times but was concerned about filling that void between the inner and outer bearing for heat reasons.
Thanks again!
Question....I thought there should be a void between the inner and outer bearing for some heat dissipation. Is this true or false. My sundance doesn't have more than a few thousand miles at the dead most. I don't mind tearing it apart for inspection but i don't know if it is necessary if...
Hard water in the hot water heater did cross my mind but I has to overlook that for the convenience of bathing my kids several times after playing in the sandy playground. Everything went well and saved all my soft water till today. Should have pretty much flushed out the lines of the...
Can you tell me more about this pressure thing? Do I need to physically disconnect the water hose from the spigot? Do you mean just turn the spigot off? I can see a problem if you have the city water on AND the pump on. That would ramp pressure up right?
Just let me know exactly what you...
We are leaving for the weekend and the campground has full hook but I have a hard time not leaving with water in my tank JUST IN CASE!! Plus I always use soft water with 2 filters on to make sure I have clean soft water in my lines.
Question: My fresh water tank is full of good water. I...
Thanks guys. Just ordered some double lipped seals for the 2.25 id 3.376 od. Not cheap at all but ordered from etrailer for 11 or 12 bucks each. motion industries wanted 22 bucks each. Not sure what the difference is but I will give this a shot. We don't travel but a few hundred miles a...
Does anybody have a part number for a 6k 8 lug axle? I want to do a repack job before we travel and always hate having to disassemble THEN drive somewhere to see who has the part. But it is a Sundance with 6k dexter axles.
Hopefully someone has the right part number or at least a size...
Sanitizing water lines. Hooked up city water line with regulator to initially flush lines. Added bleach mixture to water in fresh water tank. Filled tank and turned on water pump but the water is blowing out the city water connection. I took the screen off and removed the spring because...
Good info guys....I am going to assume a fat negative on me having the self adjusting brakes. It isn't hard to raise it wheel by wheel and adjust. I will probably grease them at the same time. Good advise on rotating the tire while greasing. I did that with my old boat trailer just to make...
thanks guys....that is a good baseline to go off of. I can tweak it but will probably start at 5.5 or so. We are really flat around here so we are pretty easy on brakes.
Thanks again!
Can anybody give me a general idea of what their gain is set on their integrated brake controller on their Ford SuperDuty. My camper is a 2010 32ft sundance 5er. 10k lbs. I know it is rig specific but I would like to have a general idea. does 6 sound about right?
Thanks bob! I sorta remember the adjust till the wheel locks up but didn't know you had to do that. I guess that makes sure they are all equal. Thanks though....I'll probably do that this weekend.
Guys,
Just a quick refresher please because it has been years since I have adjusted or checked the adjustment of drum brakes. Do I just jack up the wheel and adjust the star wheel so the shoes are just barely dragging? You want to hear just a little scuffing right? Is there a good write-up...
Can someone tell me what size socket is needed to remove the hot water heating element? I did mine a year ago and I think it was a 1 1/2"----1/2" drive....but I slept since I replaced it. A friend at work has a 3300sk sundance like mine and asked what I used. He said his gas line was in the...
Thanks guys, I'll do that.
My 7.3 was a nasty hauling beast. I honestly wanted to race my old truck and this one. I had a 100 dollar bet my old truck would whoop up on this truck. My trans in the old truck made a huge difference on getting power to the ground. A professionally built...
Looking for some advise from guys that have a newer 6.7 powerstroke and 6 speed auto trans. I have a 32ft Sundance weighing about 10k loaded. What gear do you pull in? In my old 7.3 I just left it in od and went. This truck has 3.73 gears and only runs 1400 rpm's at 55 mph.
I am thinking...
has anybody ever put plexiglass or something on the screen door? We hate having our exterior door closed all the time if it is a bit chilly. It lets so much more sunlight in. I was just wondering if anybody has customized a interior door to make it clear but cover the screens. Temporary of...
Thanks everyone. I will just save a few more dollars over the winter and go the 50 amp route. I just hear too many horror stories about electrical issues these days and don't want to ruin a trip over not buying a $350 dollar insurance plan!
stay warm!! 10 degrees and snowing outside! COME...
We have a Sundance that is wired for 50 amp. We only have 30 amp necessities since only have 1 A/C. But if it is wired for 50 amp (big round plug on the back of the camper and python size cord) is it a necessity to get the 50 amp Progressive Industries surge protector? It is 40-50 bucks...
Just a little update, I decided to button it up and go back camping. I did put some furnace tape over some of the cutouts thru the frame and other holes. That seemed to help quite a bit. Still wonder why if you have a heated underbelly, why there are holes that are not covered up. It may not...
I did some digging last night trying to find the model number and didn't have much luck. But I did mess around with the on/off button. It seems very flakey. if you giggle it wrong it will shut off. If you hold your nose just right it will turn on and off fine. Now I don't think it is...
57, I got it from Tweety's. I had a gift certificate from christmas that I hadn't spent. I meant to do it this summer but didn't. You can get accumulators anywhere on the ol' interweb. I bought a surflo just to match my pump. I also got a silencing kit which was 12 bucks or so. Just 2...
My fridges was slow to power up last Thursday night. I had to cycle the power switch 3-4 times and it finally turned on. It shut off on us yesterday but a power cycle brought it back on. I THINK it switched to LP but not 100% sure. Wife said it made a funny noise when it was powered off this...
No I don't but I can take some this weekend. Let's make sure it works for a weekend. Hate to take pictures if I need modify it!! I'll take some pictures an somehow figure out how to post them
im pretty stoked though!
Just wanted to post that I just finished installing a accumulator and silencing kit. Awesome!! I also adjusted the pressure of the pump by one turn of the screw. Very quiet and very pleased. Will see if the shower works any better this weekend. I'll keep you posted, but I think it is a great...
Good point about the water leak issue. It could pose a problem if not careful.
I am leaning towards the r board and stuff some insulation in other places. There will definitely be air gaps but will surely improve things. I can't find the heater duct going down there but I don't have the...
Yeah, already do that.
Gonna purchase a accumulator kit and pray. Just wanted to figure it out so it is easier on the kids.
thanks for the posts guys

I really like the idea of putting a 1-2" coat of the spray foam on the floor of the trailer. I don't think I would be messing with coating the sides of the tanks or anything but if the guy could get in some of those tight places that air gets in I really think it would be good. My buddy has...
Dan, When we are doing a constant flow the pump will continuously flow because the pressure is always lower. Granted, we are almost never hooked to city water. We have to conserve so we are turning the water on and off all the time. We get the on/off scenario for a short while along with...
Has anybody ever taken down the underpinning and had a person come in and spray closed cell foam underneath? We do probably as much camping in spring and fall as we do in the heat so I use the furnace a fair amount due to a 1 and 3 year old. I have the underpinning 1/2 down and trying to...
Danemayer, the water flow does change when the pump turns on and when it turns off. It doesn't change near as much on the other faucets as it does the shower.
Pump does not run the entire time. It cycles as it should. When pressure builds and drops it turns on and off
thanks!!
