Replacement of hot water outlet question

My plastic hot water outlet cracked and I broke it trying to back it out. I saw the the threads about ways to back out the plastic part. It also has a spring in it that I assume is a check valve to prevent water coming back in. If I replace the plastic part with brass how does the check...

After two years, plastic plumbing fittings are self destructing

I haven't noticed any leaks in our trailer. Don't most new houses use plastic instead of brass and copper now? The last 2 years we have left our trailer outside at the campgrround in northern Wisconsin and when we opened it up in the spring we didn't have any leaks. We leave our...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Curious, has anybody ever had to pull or fire their gun when camping? I've camped in public and private campgrounds and have never felt threatened. What kind of places are people camping at that need a gun? I want to stay away from those places!

Which fridge recommended - Big Horn

We don't have a separate W/D closet and ended up putting a 5 cu ft freezer(110v) sideways in front closet. Put another dorm size (4 cu ft) refrigerator under the slide out. We ended up staying at one site for summer so weight is not a problem. Two 100 lb propane tanks eliminate running...

    Slam door locks

I replaced some of my locks with round locks from http://www.mrlock.com/eshop/locks/index.html?bread. Can get them all keyed alike if you want. They have all sizes. That being said a screwdriver and 30 seconds is all it takes to get in. It will prevent somebody from using the generic...

What to do with the extra space?...Add a freezer.

Freezer in Closet We put our 5 cu ft freezer in the front closet where the washer/dryer setup would be. It goes sidewise in the closet and is really not that big of footprint. Got a 4 cu ft refrig/freezer and put it outside under the curb side slide. We stay one place all summer so we don't...

    What size springs?

I ordered heavy axle(7000#) when I got my BC. It came with G tires but Chinese(Freestar) which I swapped out next year for Goodyears. Dealer said get a tire dealer to swap but they wouldn't touch them. Question is did this come with heavier springs for 7000# or did it come with springs for...

Cover or not cover for the winter?

We are leaving our trailer at the camp site all winter in northern Wisconsin. The campground host says most yearly campers leave trailers uncovered and don't have any problems. A friend at home always uses a tarp and prefers that. Some say cover for birds, weather, etc. Others say they have...

    Sprayer in Black Water Tank

Open valve I agree with oldlthneck, just leave valve open when running flusher. I think there is a note to leave valve open when running flusher. If the object is to hit the solids with water from flusher then that is defeated when tank is filled with water with closed valve.

    BH 3055-2007 duramax 3/4 T classic-adding spring leaves

Ray, thanks for information about luncheon in February. We will be on SPI in February but staying in a condo. Can we still come? Sansui TV doesn't work

We went camping this weekend for the first time and can't figure out how to get the TV to work. We were at a state park so we were relying on the antenna for reception. Plug underneath the TV was plugged to 'cable' outlet. Other option underneath was 'satellite'. I could get one channel very...

    2009 Big Country 3300RL

We bought a 2008 BC 3300RL in November and towed it home to storage. I didn't know the new models came out so fast. Theoretically it is one year old before we use it. Thanks flywalker for the advice. Being new to pulling 5th wheel I didn't know if that jerking braking was normal or not. THe service tech said set it here and then left. When I got in town and started braking it felt like the trailer brakes were exerting a lot more braking than the TV...
