    Upgrade Axles

Depending on what you have now, you may or may not be able to upgrade. If you can upgrade it is worth it. Higher load capacity components always generate a greater margin of safety. You can call me to discuss upgrading. Ron 405-885-7009

    Elkhart to Canyonville

Smoke is secondary right now. Left Elkhart on 9/4 and only made Joliet, IL. before check engine light comes on and tells me I have 150 miles before reducing speed to 5 mph. This is probably a DEF problem again. This has happened 3x before on 2014 Ram 3500. There is an autoworkers strike going on...

    Axle overhang

Overhang is the difference in your spring center and hub face. I have never seen an axle with different overhang. This tag shows Spring Center 68.5" and Hub face 87". This means the overhang is 18.5". You could have new axles built with an 86" hub face that would inset the tires 1/2" on each side.

    Elkhart to Canyonville

We are leaving for the Canyonville Rally on 9/4 and have been watching the wildfire activity. Have been planning I-80 to SLC then I-84 to Hwy 20 and across thru Bend. The Bend area seems to have a number of fires and not sure of this route. I could go N. to Portland then down to Canyonville or...

    Slides creep out when traveling

Exact same thing I had on SOB with Level Up and Hydraulic main slides. All Lippert did was to bleed air from the system and no more problems. The way they did this was with trailer disconnected, they cycled the front jacks all the way down & up about 5 times. No more slide problems.

Difficulty in installation of Titan disc brakes?

Not sure what video you were looking at but on all of our installs the wiring is pulled from the front compartment into the pin box. Nothing is on the exterior. We have never found a Bighorn that there was any problem pulling the wire.

    Air Pressure on 215/75R17.5 H

As most Heartland products in the 16,000 lb. GVWR will have a wheel position weighing in the 3,600 lb. plus range, to generate a 20% reserve load capacity you need to air the tire to carry at least 4,320 lbs. @ 110 psi the load capacity is 4,340 lbs. @ 115 psi the load capacity is 4,495 lbs...

All 6 hole trailer wheels are 5 1/2" bolt circle. I sell Tire/Wheel upgrades and have never found an aluminum 6 hole wheel that will carry 3.750 lbs or 110 psi (Load Range G). EVENT: Heartland Chapter Rally: PA, Gettysburg - 4/21/2017 to 4/23/2017

Most installs on Heartland products we mount the actuator in the propane compartment. It's a straight shot down to the frame rail, along the frame rail and up the Z frame to the first axle and start Teeing off there. We want to keep the lines visible so that if you ever develop a leak it's easy...

Trailer Brakes and RAM Integrated Brake Controller

Ram came out with a Technical Service Bulletin in Oct. 2016 TSB # 08-082-16 ITBM Evidently a braking problem when the trailer is connected before starting the truck. Seems that the controller works fine as long as you start the truck then plug in the 7 way. Odd but that's what they say.

A tale of an axle problem

First thing when you have an axle problem is to take a picture of the mfg. tag on the axle. All of your axle dimensions are on there (in code) to determine exactly what you have. As I buy axles from Dexter, I can assure you that within 2 weeks you can get an axle anywhere in the country at a...

    Disc Brake Upgrade

The Kodiak XL sealed bearing requires a special axle. The bearings will not work in a standard 7k or 8k Dexter axle. You must have the Dexter Nev-R-Lube axle to use this kit. Kodiak & Titan disc brakes are identical, parts interchange and both use an off the shelf GM pad with no performance...

    Trailer brakes disconnected

Ram's are notorious for bad grounds. I would take some 12 ga. wire and run a separate ground from your trailer plug directly to the battery. If that fixes the problem, then you can take it back to Ram and have them fix it.
