While running my AC I'm getting heat pulled through the vent as shown in the picture. I pulled the vent cover off and could not determine actually where the heat was coming from. The gas was turned off so I know the pilot wasn't lit. Also, I'm getting a septic order there as well...
LOL Yeah, it's so easy for me to get caught up in A & B. I think I'll add the Vortex fan in the bathroom and the Maxxair II vents on the outside and call it a day. Thanks for all the great responses. ;-)
I'm in Southeast Texas and there's only a few weeks out of the year I would ever bring outside air in to be honest. It's either in the 40's or in the 90's. Rarely is it in between. However, those are great points. We actually carry a box fan with us to mask outside noises while sleeping. I...
 This probably sounds like a stupid question but why would one need a high-powered vent fan in their RV? Other than bathroom odors and venting trapped heat while storing during hot summer months I'm at a loss why you would want these high-powered ventilation fans. I'm reading about...
Ok, I'm about to pull the trigger on two Maxxair vent covers. I've been looking at the fan size in my bathroom and noticed that one could purchase a high-velocity fan that would move more air than my stock vent fan. Are you guys upgrading those? If so, why do you feel you need to move more...
Hi All,
Has anyone noticed a hump or any warping or raised areas on your North Trail floor? I was thinking based on the materials used in the floor this wouldn't be possible. I have a slight hump or raised area in the floor that's about 3" in diameter. You wouldn't notice it unless you...
That's exactly the news I was needing. Thanks! I wasn't sure if the jensen would take the audio up to the next level or not. I'll throw in an amp and some speakers as well. Sounds like the ticket. Thanks again!
I think I'm only going to add the "Caliber Elite" and "By Heartland" text under the NT name. I'll hold off on the stripes I think. I probably have spent too much time thinking about this to be honest. LOL
That's a thought for sure. I just was thinking the sides of the trailer were busy with decals and they left the front a little bare. I'm not overly excited with the decals Heartland choose to bring it all together on the front cap though. I think the late model 2015's are the best looking but...
Started with pre-stain conditioner (use liberaly). I did 2 coats of stain. First coat was Minwax Wood Finish (English Chestnut) followed by Minwax Polyshades (American Chestnut).
Thanks guys! Hey, regarding the staining... Be sure and sand everything smooth and use a pre-stain conditioner to get the stain to even out properly. Pine can have areas that will stain darker than others. The pre-stain conditioner will help but won't completely eliminate the darker spots. I...
You bring up a good point. To me, I think the late 2014/early 2015 graphics on the cap look like an afterthought. Maybe add the "Caiber Elite" and "by heartland" text only?
Yeah, I'm on the fence about it because I don't have a creative eye for this stuff. I wanted to go ahead and pick up the decals before they discontinue them. Not sure if I'll immediately put them on there or not. I could go either way. If I had an overwhelming reponse to add them I would do...
I have a 2014 North Trail 32BUDS and was considering purchasing the newer 2015 decals for the front cap. Which do you like best? With or Without the additional decals?
No worries...thx Ghettomedic I'm 6'-0" and to be honest the ceilings are fine in that regard. It just feels a little more cramped in there to me when I'm travelling back and forth between my trailer and a Forest River for instance. Put it on the list for next time.
I'm not trying to put NT's on blast here. Like I said, I still love the trailer but I wasn't aware at the time the ceilings were 2-3" shorter in the NT than a lot of brands. This is my first time to buy an RV and I was just stating a surprising observation.
I admit I was a little disappointed after visiting a local dealer here in Houston. All of the ceilings across all brands at this dealer had 2-3 inches of ceiling height over my 2014 North Trail. I felt a little buyer’s remorse I admit. The extra ceiling height makes a huge difference IMO on the...
I hear ya. Speakers should help. I'm not sure what speakers I can find that will be efficient at 6 watts but a speaker replacement is a reasonable starting point for sure. Thanks
Yeah, I would have said the same thing....however at 6 watts a channel the Magnadyne is terrible. I just can't imagine it sounding this bad. I've actually heard some decent reviews about the latest Jensen unit. I'm sure it's not on the level of Pioneer or Denon but it has to sound better than...
North Trail owners deserve better. Does it work, yes but it is a poor poor excuse for sound quality. I don't expect much from RV installed systems but this unit is cheap. I'm sorry but this unit doesn't belong with solid surface counter tops, electric awning, and hidden cabinet hinges.
Thanks! It misses being able to go in the upright position by about 3/4". I was thinking about just moving the lock down an inch actually, if thats possible.
I guess if I had to I could just unscrew the brackets from the bunk bed base each time I wanted to stow the bunk, however my boys are...
Just wanted to give a little insight into my bed rail and ladder project. I used an Amazon company for the ladders. See link: http://www.amazon.com/Room-Doctor-Accessories-Ladders/dp/B008VDLDPO
I purchased 8" "L" brackets, 1" wood screws & 1x2 high-grade pine from Lowes. Cut the lengths...
Does this look reasonable or seriously flawed? LOL You will need to keep clicking on the pic until you can use cntrl/zoom to see the text descriptions in the photo. I would add a small plastic junction box to house the LED controller, etc.
Here is a great thread on the subject I found.

I also talked to an awning manufacturer that makes them with LED's installed at the factory. They said the power wiring is sewn into the fabric material.
Thanks....Yeah I was thinking the roller lights would present a cooler effect and provide a factory/finished look. However, there would be downsides too as brought up here. I wish there was a way I could install the roller lights permanent without any outside connections. Maybe I could...
