We also use a full size pick up to pull our 21 FBS, which is just a bit smaller than the 22FBS. We don't even know it's back there most of the time. I use a e2 round bar hitch by Fastway.
It's looking more and more like we will have to miss this one. If we do, it might have to be an impulse thing, Kids summer schedule is a little hectic.
Mahoney and Louisville are too full of knuckleheads from Omaha/CB in our opinion. We try to avoid those when we can. Viking Lake State Park is a nice place, though it may be a little too far for the original poster from Omaha/CB.
No chains. I lift the tongue as high as I can to make it easier to put the bars in place. I have back problems. My dealer says let the jack do as much as it can for me.
Get some fluorescent orange paint or the like (or some yellow tape, whatever) and mark up your black weight distribution hitch tool, stabilizer tool, etc. I have left...I mean a friend has left... his black WD tool on the black frame of the trailer once. Or twice.
I have the E2 hitch, but with the round bar. I set it up per the instructions and took the measurements like it said. Afterwards, since I was newer to a WD hitch at the time, I stopped in my dealer the next time I went by for a check. They verified that it was set up right. The E2 is made by the...
Ditto on the equal-I-zer and half ton, you should be fine. I downsized to the 21FBS, but before that we towed a larger bunk house model with no issues, same truck and hitch. Might even see you at the Iowa rally if you head out and our schedule allows it as well!
Awesome, I'll be paying attention to this thread. There are some threads similar to this, yet different, lol. I've got a grill that uses those little green bottle I'd like to use, since that line is already converted to low pressure.
I am also curious on this. On my 21FBS, on the curbside rear, there is a pipe cap that is labeled "L.P Gas Connection" or similar. Is that where you happen to be talking about Mburke? My first thought was that looks like an excellent spot for a grill.
We have owned two Jaycos, one Forrest River, and now this Heartland North Trail. As far as longevity, I can not vouch for the Heartland, as we just got ours this month. We really liked our Jaycos, and the only reason we changed models was our changing family. The Forrest River was an absolute...
On the other side of the coin, my wife and I took our new NT to one of our normal spots, a nice little state park less than 10 miles away this past weekend. Fun times!
I get all my tires from Discount Tire Direct .Com (They have free shipping usually). I wish Nitto made a trailer tire, that would be sweet! On a semi-related note, I was looking at my tires on our new North Trail this past weekend at the storage unit. I am happy to say we don't have Tow Max...
I had load range "E" on my Jeep. While I wasn't towing anything, I used them off road a LOT. A lot of guys I went with snickered that I used an A/T while they were using a M/T, but my jeep is my daily driver, I drive 35 miles to work one way. Those same guys were surprised that I could hang with...
While I have not had time to play around last weekend, (I was jeepin') I appreciate the fact that Heartland employees come here and ask for feedback. Thank you! Hope to provide some soon.
We like, well the kids like, Yogi Bear or Jellystone. Now that the kids are growing out of it, next time it will be definitely some place a little more quiet. :)
About the most we can do is the very eastern part of Nebraska to Estes Park, Colorado. That's about 550 miles. We do it about every year. As long as the vehicles are well maintained, I don't see a problem with it.
Re: Facts of life . . .
You know, bad advertising is just as effective as good advertising. I find this when I go to off road events with the jeep. People with brand "x" stuff that breaks all the time stop buying brand "x". If it wasn't for driving around with cracked decals, I would be very...
Oh, ok, so these are in addition to what is there already. That's what I breezed over. Thanks for the clearing up. Again, I didn't mean to sound like a smart @*! I'll be checking back for the video.
Please don't take this the wrong way, I am just curious. Why would you want another camera? (I have a 2013 Ram as well) The tailgate camera works fine for me to hook up our current TT by myself. Am I missing an opportunity to try and talk the wife into getting a new toy?
Thanks again for the welcome. I'll be looking at the rally's for the upcoming year and see what fits our schedule. Bad thing is, I only see a lot of short trips for the time being. My wife is looking forward to picking up the trailer on the 20th!
Thanks for the welcome! We are downsizing to the 21fbs, as our kids are at that age that they don't want to go with us anymore. Teenagers, geesh. I've already learned a lot just reading over the last day or so here. Thanks!
Just thought I'd introduce myself. My wife and I are new to the Heartland family. We've owned a couple Jayco's that we really liked. Then, we made a extremely poor decision and traded for a Forrest River. Never again.
We finally got rid of that, and are taking delivery of our NT 21FBS in a...
