    Question for residential fridge owners

Rhyph, that is a horrible experience and makes what we went through seem like nothing. We also still do not have use of our ice maker/water dispenser and agree that the slide seems woefully inadequate for the task.

What did you do to your camper today?

This is a great idea, please post again after you've tried it for a while. I also have a multi-colored strip and a factory white strip and would consider doing this if it's worth it. Thanks. - - - Updated - - - This exact type but bring a sample of your old one to the store to match up...

What did you do to your camper today?

Finished replacing all kitchen drawer guides with soft-close hardware. Replaced all door handles with Schlage hardware. Installed LED Stop/Turn/Brake light strip in between rear tail lights. Sprayed all 6 jack legs with PTFE dry lube. Then vacuumed up my mess. lol

Installing: larger Inverter. Need:coach-specific wiring diagram to find routes of main and sub panels.

Thank you Steve for taking the time to share this info. It's right up the ally of what I needed to know. All 110 plugs and microwave would suffice as the only thing left is the AC units and I would never run those off the batteries. I understand the importance of the Neutral ground and after...

Installing: larger Inverter. Need:coach-specific wiring diagram to find routes of main and sub panels.

Begin rambling: Erika you are definitely partially correct. LOL And I can totally picture our dealer doing that. However Heartland did deny a few claims and delayed approvals for weeks while they 'researched'. As it stands we have a main slide with the bottom foot trim falling off because...

Installing: larger Inverter. Need:coach-specific wiring diagram to find routes of main and sub panels.

Great setup and thank you for sharing! I'd love to see how you did it. As I mentioned earlier I never intend to use everything in the rig at once, but I do not want to be limited on what works and when. We also have the Magnum 2812 and 4 L-16 Trojans in series and parallel for 870 amp hours...

    Question for residential fridge owners

What an ordeal. Did you have to foot the entire bill or did Heartland step in?

Installing: larger Inverter. Need:coach-specific wiring diagram to find routes of main and sub panels.

Hahahahahaha, so true. I'm not worried about our warranty. To be honest I have no faith in it anyway. We tried for 4 months to get some simple things fixed by the dealership working with Heartland and they fixed about 50% of the as-delivered issues. 4 months they had our brand-new coach and...

    Question for residential fridge owners

Ho-Le-Cow that's a chunk of change! Their solution is to replace the slide? Will the replacement slide have a better setup?

Installing: larger Inverter. Need:coach-specific wiring diagram to find routes of main and sub panels.

Hi all, I have contacted Heartland directly on this with no luck. 8 emails back and forth until the guy gave up trying to help. Coach is a Bighorn 3760 EL Here is what I am looking for: Where the main line feeding the sub panel is routed, so I can send inverter power there. (Which will then...

What did you do to your camper today?

I completely agree about shiny tires not looking good or looking fake. I found a perfect middle ground between shiny plastic looking tire protectant and the dry curb scrubbed look. I use Meguiars Natural shine protectant. Great UV protection for tires dashboards bumpers, etc.. but without that...

    Question for residential fridge owners

A This comment baffles me. Why would I NOT want to use a feature or function of my RV? If the water at RV parks is so horrible, then I would not even shower with it. Also, are we the only people who fill up their fresh water tanks before leaving home just in case we need it?

    Question for residential fridge owners

Water leak on ours as well. Nice new 2016 unit and we can't use our water dispenser or ice maker. Super. The dealer has had the unit for 4 out of 5 months of ownership and this issue was raised immediately before delivery, still no fix. Very hard to maintain confidence in the dealer or Heartland...

Shocked to find them shock absorbers trying to get away...

Hi Truckmen, I used - KYB KG5514 Gas-a-Just Monotube Shocks at about $35 each, and here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C3ZDXE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s03 I am very happy with the change in how it 'wallows' down the road compared to before. It's still...

Shocked to find them shock absorbers trying to get away...

^^^^^ I agree completely! I just posted a similar comment in another section (mods). When we took delivery of our 2016 there was a shock with a stem completely cut/shaved off, hardware missing. Also two other shocks had loose hardware. The dealer replaced the shock but I replaced them all with...

L-16 batteries, slide topers and shocks

On our 2016 I installed a Fantastic Fan in the bathroom, deleting the vent with tiny little fan, then added 4 L-16H-AC Trojan batteries in the generator compartment (435AH each) in series and parallel, deleting the two hybrid marine batteries from the factory. Had the dealership add...

    Extreme Measures for Extreme Heat

We do the same thing with the foil bubble insulation, except we cut the insulation slightly larger than our interior windows and fit them on the inside. Much faster, less work to put up and take down, no tape, and no complaints from neighbors.

Have a solar setup in mind. Thought I'd pass it by my new Heartland family for opinions.

Thank you guys for the replies and great info. I see now I should have added more info to my OP. We moved from a Jayco Recon ZX 40' toyhauler, which we used often for dry camping (boon docking). Although this Bighorn unit has only half the fresh water tank and nearly half the waste tanks...

Have a solar setup in mind. Thought I'd pass it by my new Heartland family for opinions.

Hi everyone! I did a search but finding a whole solar setup plan is proving difficult. Picking up our new 3760EL Big Horn tomorrow morning. It currently has the residential refer and the standard 2 12v batteries/inverter/switch that come with that option. We dry camp and the residential refer...

    Happijac help

We have (trading in for a BH next weekend) a Jayco Recon ZX toy hauler with twin queens in the garage. We have 4 pins to secure the upper bunk. There is no securing the lower. Some of this advice is obvious so please do not take it as an insult. Just that sometimes we all forget the simple...

    Just purchased first Heartland a 2016 3760EL

Thank you all for the warm welcome! We are actually taking delivery the 27th of this month. And seriously the pics do not do the unit justice, it really is nice and the staircase got us. We currently have a 2006 3500 Ram dually that we will be replacing with a 2016 Ram 3500 mega cab dually. We...

    Just purchased first Heartland a 2016 3760EL

Wanted to say hi to our new family! We just signed for a Big Horn after looking for a replacement 5th wheel for 4 years. We previously owned a 2008 Jayco Recon ZX toy hauler, which was extremely reliable and we loved (love) very much. But after a few years of ownership we realized only a few...
