    Extended Warranties

Got Xtra Ride by Protective Asset Protection when purchased RV. Sold unit less than 2 years later and requested refund of unused premium as per literature. When nothing happened, I called and got quite an argument, saying I should have contacted dealer, even though their literature said they...

    ATF: Bighorn - padre44

Thanks to everyone for your input. I had found the motor and moved the slide some with my drill and the attachment that came with the coach, but it was terribly awkward and I didn't see how I could get it all the way open, or close it if it was stuck open, due to limited space. I knew there...

    ATF: Bighorn - padre44

How do I get to motor on a 2016 BigHorn 3570 RS so I can manually extend and retract? I can barely reach it on right side, but won't be able to fully extend it from there. We are leaving for a trip in two days and will need to manually operate until we can get a repair facility to come fix it...

    ATF: Bighorn - Theater Chairs

We had one chair quit working on a trip in May. Still don't have a replacement in and we will have to take a different color since the ones we had were discontinued. LCI sure is dragging their feet and I'm not impressed. They would be much better off to put manual recliners in the trailers -...

SOLVED: Slides and 6 point landing gear shutting off

Re: Slides and 6 point landing gear shutting off We just started having the same problem in a trip to Maine. If a breaker trips, it stays tripped doesn't it? LCI says the hydraulics might be slower in colder weather, but in the high 40's to low 50's? Ours also cuts off in the levelers and...

Bighorn - Shower Faucet Adjustment -- Tighten

Also, be careful with the gasket when you put the cover back on. If it gets kinked then water will leak in. Too easy to do - I know from experience.

ATF: Bighorn - Shower door knob

The allen screw doesn't tighten to the glass, but goes through a small hole in the door. and into the other side of the handle. Mine has some type of plastic between the handle and glass, but it is hard to keep on while you tighten the screw. Probably not necessary because it doesn't do...

ATF: Bighorn - Shower door knob

Mine looks the same as yours and it is held on my a small allen set screw. If it fell out and you lost it, might be hard to find a replacement. If it is still there, just tighten it up. Will probably come loose again - mine has.

    power recliner won't recline

I tried to figure out how to disconnect mechanism from motor so I could operate seat manually for the duration of this trip. All wires were connected properly. I unhooked what I thought would work, but still couldn't make chair recline like a non-powered recliner. I found chair model from LCI...

    White rollers under bedroom slide

Mine had some of the rubber gasket getting caught and stopping the rolling. Dealer trimmed a little off and that cured it. Bad design.

Bighorn - Water leaking from AC vent duct

Re: ATF: Bighorn - Water leaking from AC vent duct High humidity will cause this because there is no insulation between duct and ceiling panel. Poor design but I don't see what can be done now. Should have put insulation between duct and ceiling during construction.

    power recliner won't recline

Power recliner just stopped working. One side still works, but other side won't open. Other buttons work but the two that open and close don't. Yes, its still under warranty but we're on a long trip 2000 miles from home. Hoped someone would have easy fix, but if not, I'll have to try to find...

    Quality Control

Detroit finally improved much after stiff competition from Japan. They got so bad some even needed a government bail out. We need some competition in the RV industry to get them to shape up. Do their workers not have any pride? Our Big Horn was better than most RVs we've had, but still too...

2016 Bighorn 3575EL no lights working on battery but do on shore power

Another thanks for the help. Strange place to put such a thing, but on my 3570 it was on the 3rd from the top I had to do some searching. I assume they vary in location. Mine was tripped sometime after last fall trip, but I had turned battery cut off switch off. Go figure. Took batteries out...

    Distant Network Services (DNS)

I also switched to Dish - much less expensive. Had an automatic dish for Direct and to get local stations needed another small box. If I call Dish and give them the local zip code, they can make a change to allow me to get local channels where I am. Problem is that changes all my programming...

    Water Filling Fresh Water Tank

If y you have an Anderson valve to switch between city, tank, etc. one or more of the O rings has probably come off. I had that in my 2016 BigHorn. Got a kit from Heartland and fixed it. I've read that you shouldn't switch between modes with the water pressure on as that might make the rings...

    Slider hitch or Not

I was told I didn't need one due to t he "tight turn technology" of the BigHorn. Then recently I noticed dents on each side of the cab from where the trailer hit the truck. The dealer is mystified - said that shouldn't happen while going forward and I must have jack knifed. I don't remember...

    Winterization

I no longer trust the blowing method alone. Had a leak from the shower faucet being split from freezing where all the water didn't get blown out. I now use anti freeze after blowing just to make sure. Not much more time and not expensive. Probably wouldn't have to blow out lines if using the...

Direct TV - Wireless Reciever "Genie"

This has been out for some time. I had it at home and it was fine, but Direct TV got too expensive. I switched to Dish which has the same type of system (Hopper). I think their system is superior. I bought a receiver for my RV($50) and a portable automatic dish ($400) and pay only $7 a month...

    Shower leaking

Mine leaked from the faucets behind the handles from a split due to my poor winterizing. Heartland was great and sent a new one to an RV park where I was staying. I replaced it. I also had a problem with the Anderson valve losing some O rings and filling up the fresh tank while set on city...

Shower Leaking - How To Disassemble Parts?

I used a knife to gently pry the "C" and "H" off the handles, then there is a phillips screw inside. Unscrew it and pull off the handle. Make sure the water is turned off then there is a large nut that will come off and then the guts of the faucet will come out. To take the entire faucet off...

My question is why have the pump on when using city water? Easy fix - leave it off until tank water is needed.

    Is my Anderson valve bad?

I took my valve apart and found that there were two missing O rings. I called Heartland and they shipped me a repair kit over night Air. Great service. Easy fix. I'll try to remember to turn water pressure off before switching in case that was the problem.

    Is my Anderson valve bad?

Seems that there is a problem with these valves. Too many people having problems with O rings coming off. Some say to not turn them with water pressure on. My coach is only 6 months old and I had the problem with tank filling while set on City, then overflowing. I took it apart and found...

Tight Turn Technology - RV contacted truck cab

Bought a new 3570 Big Horn last summer. Sticker on front says "Tight Turn Technology." Recently noticed small dents on rear of truck cab (2016 F250 short bed) on each side of rear window where it appears that the trailer has pushed against the cab when turning sharply. Hitch seems to be...

ATF: Bighorn - Slides making dent in floor and carpets

I personally don't see what the big deal is. Every RV I've ever had has some marks from slides. There is some weight involvedl that is bound to make some marks. I just live with it.

Satellite Television - What do you use?

I had Direct TV at home and in another receiver in the RV. Price got too high so switched to Dish. Much happier with it. Bought a receiver from them for RV so only costs additional $7 per month. I could stop and start that receiver, but more trouble than its worth, so I leave it live. Got a...
