2011 End Cap Chalking problem (maybe ?) solved

We have a grey 2011 Big Country with the infamous end cap chalking problem. (If you have it, you know of where I speak.) Over the past years I have treated it regularly with a combination of Meguires "One Step Compound 67" and their "Flagship Marine Wax". This brings back a "reasonable"...

    Slide out hydraulics question

Our 2011 Big Country (4 slideouts) has a hydraulic system to deploy/retract the slides. There are no individual controls per slide, just a single control to activate the pump. So, for example, when you deploy the slides there is pressure applied to all slide rams, and the slides deploy in...

    Schematic or wiring diagram?

Is it possible to obtain a schematic or wiring diagram for our rigs? I had an electrical problem on our BC which did not allow us to use the wall switch to extend/retract the slides. (We could control the slides using the remote dongle, or from the switch near the hydraulic pump.) Pulled the...

    Lippert remote control "central box"

We have a 2011 BC 3510RL with the Lippert remote control "dongle" (controls landing gear, awnings, slideouts, etc.) Where is the central box/board (I assume it has a batch of relays on it) hidden in our rig? I opened the "back wall" in the pass-though area and couldn't find it there. Some...

Rain gutters --- just noticed something

Our 2011 BC has rain gutters the entire length of both sides at the roofline. (Thank you Heartland!) It also has a rain gutter over the dining/couch slide on the starboard side. But over the 3 port side slides (B/R, kitchen, entertainment) there is no gutter. Any know a good reason?

    Poor finish on front/rear caps?

We have a 2011 Big Country. The front and rear caps have been a constant headache to keep in good shape. The finish has NOT been neglected. I clean and wax the exterior twice a year using decent products (Maguair "Flagship" and similar good brands). Despite a LOT of hard work the front and...

    Stability arm for electric awning

(Disclaimer --- this is an amateur Do-It-Yourownself project. Proceed at your own risk.) My Big Country has an electric awning. The design is not very robust, and a passing gust of wind can cause all sorts of havoc because the awning tube basically just "floats" out there on the end of the...

    Hobby Table

We are snowbirds, spending about 5 months in Gold Canyon, Arizona each winter. Both of us have various hobbies which require a "worktable" from time to time. Our couch just consumed room, hardly every sat on it. So we took out the couch, and moved the easy chairs to the curb slide behind the...

    Bracing for awning

We have a 2011 BC 3510RL. It has the flimsy electric awning (I liked the older manually operated design SOOOOOOO much better). When parked "for the winter" in Arizona, we like to put up sunscreens on the side and both ends of the awning. Naturally this is very risky, because the weakling...

    TPMS Battery life

I just installed a "Tire Minder" "A1A" TPMS system on our rig. It appears that the transmitters (on each wheel) are continuously active (as opposed to activated by motion as seen in some systems). Does anyone here have this system, and what is your experience with battery life on the...

Lunch stop on I-10 in WEST Texas ???

Our usual track from Minnesota to Senior Winter Camp in Arizona, day 3, has us traveling from Big Spring, TX to Deming, NM. Lunch time comes somewhere out on I-10, maybe Van Horn. Unfortunately, Van Horn has ZIP for decent restaurants. Even the McDonald is a dirty pit, and we're not fast food...

    Cleaning/protecting TPO roof?

Over the years all my RV's had EPDM roofs. I used Dicor cleaner/conditioner and UV protectant products with good success. My recently purchased 2011 Big Country has a TPO roof. Are the products that I used on EPDM appropriate for TPO?

    Dual A/C

We have a 2011 BC 3510RL with dual A/C's. Since the forward unit does an excellent job of cooling the small bedroom area, I'd like to block the ceiling outlets in the bedroom from the aft unit. This would give better cooling to the main cabin. Has anyone solved this issue in a non-surgery and...

    Washer/Dryer width question

We have a 2011 BC 3510RL. The door opening (inside molding to inside molding is 23-inches wide. (I've checked three times!) All the washer/dryer stack combos I can find (Splendide, Kenmore, Whirlpool) are between 23.5 to 24 inches wide. Do I have an oddball rig, or have people carved away...

    TPO vs DICOR?

Reading the manual for my (New to me) 2011 BC3510RL, I notice that they refer to the roof material as "TPO" --- is different from the "DICOR" roof of my previous rigs, and if so, do I use different maintenance products (cleaning and UV protection)?

    Stair railing

We have a BC 3510RL. Wife has some mobility issues on stairs, so I "invented" an assist rail. Got a bronze colored "grab bar", like you'd put outside a bath tub, etc. 18" long. Mounted it on a 1/4" board, bolted through the wall (into the laundry space), and backed it up on the other side...

    Screw channel vinyl insert material

I have a 2011 BC 3510RL. Serial 234953. Most of the screw channel vinyl insert trim is cracked/brittle. Seems it is 1/2" size, while I can only seem to find 3/4" and 1" size. Can you point me to a source?

"Scare lights" on 2011 BC 3510RL

Our recently acquired 2011 3510RL came with the LINC remote controller. One function is control of the "scare lights". That works just fine, but I can't find the regular manual switch to control those lights. Is there one?

    LINC Controller location?

My LINC has four functions assigned --- slides, forward landing gear, aft stabilizers, and canopy. Looking at the owners manual in the HOM area, it can control up to 7 functions. (I presume I'd need to wire those additional functions --- not a problem) So where is the controller physically...

    Television mounting 3510RL

Just purchased a 2011 3510RL. The TV seems to be flush mounted to the wall. Is there a swing arm behind there with a latch that I haven't found? Or is fixed in place? Seems it will be hard to view from the portside recliner.

2011 BC 3510RL --- Two questions about brakes

Found a very nice 2011 3510RL, essentially "unused"! Pick it up Wednesday after they detail it out and check all the systems, then we do a PDI etc.... Looking through some online specification site (which no I can't re-acquire, maybe RVT or one of those guys --- not a Heartland) it said the...

    What should I look for?

I'm considering purchase of a 2011 Big Country 3510RL available in a nearby city. Researching the brochures, videos, etc., it looks like a good rig for us (Arizona "snowbirds" from Minnesota). I haven't yet seen the unit, just dealers photos. When I go to see the unit, are there any owners...
