Anybody having this problems with butyl tape?

On the front and back corner trim pieces I keep getting butyl tape oozing/coming out.
I have cleaned this up once, but it slowly but surely comes back out! Any thoughts on why or how to fix this?

Yep have been having that problem for several years. I'll remove it & it reappears. You'd think that after about 7 years of ownership, you'd think it would stop!

It's a constant problem with that product, especially in the warmer summer months. I use a plastic razor blade to scrape off the excess, removes easy and the plastic blade doesn't scratch the surface.

I'm with Roy on this, my rig is seven years old as well and I just noticed some oozing out yesterday.
I guess I'm all right with just cleaning it up once in a while as I know that plenty of butyl sealant was used.
