Awning Rain Flap Adjustment

Our RV dealer replaced our main awning with a metal wrapped awning (wrong one came on it when it was received by dealer). When the awning is fully extended, the rain flap is no longer positioned such that it can be used - in other words, the flap seam is too far up on the main awning material to be able to flip down and use. It looks like where the flap is connected to the awning is about 2-3 inches too far up on the awning. Can the awning be adjusted to fix this?

Sounds like the dealer added the metal protection to the original material without cutting the necessary amount to compensate for the new guard. Awning material will have to be removed to shorten the total length to allow for correct fall of end flap.
