Best Tips for travelling long term (with dogs)

Folks;

We have traveled for many years in the Motorhome and now the 5th Wheel. Generally for a week at most, this summer we are going to head around the country, with the dogs. We would love some tips and references to books or articles that help prepare to leave the home for a longer period, dealing with bills, mail, etc. We also are wondering if anyone as a way to acquire dog sitters when were in parks across the country, we will take our Motorcycles with us, set up camp and then ride the area that we camp at. It is unlikely we would be gone overnight but possible. We thought we might try and call Vet's in the area to see if they have any High School kids that work for them we could pay to dog-sit while we are riding.
Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

There are many ways to take care of the mail and bills. Many use a mail forwarding service such as one offered by Escapees.com and some use relatives for the mail. The US Postal Service (USPS) has a service called Priority Forwarding where they will forward your mail once every week-10 days for the price of a priority mail package. They do this up to 6 months (I think). You can check it out at your local post office or on www.usps.com. As far as dog sitters you can find them by asking the RV Park manager and also looking in the RV Park Sitemap for Dog Groomers as many groomers have contacts with pet sitters. I am sure others have suggestions as well.

Good Sam also has mail forwarding. Bills you can pay online. Make sure you can get any meds at national pharmacies. Also, use a bank with locations across the nation - not a regional one. That will simplify many aspects of your travels.

PM us if you want.
