Hi,

We will be picking up our 2013 Heartland Pioneer TB27 soon. We live in central Florida but have never camped here. I would like a suggestion on a nice weekend getaway for our initial shakedown camp.

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate hearing them.

Thanks Everyone,

Papa Gator

An interesting state park is Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park. Shaded camp area and a neat buggy ride thru the preserve for a fee. Weekend would be just right length of time.

Williston. Rated highly by many people and publications. Visit Alachua Sink, Paynes Prairie, Blue Grotto, and Cedar Key while you're there.

Tropical Palms in Kissimmee. Also just a couple miles from Camping World. What could be better?

I've stayed at Williston Crossings in Williston - as suggested - very nice. I have stayed at Grand Lakes RV & Golf Resort in Orange Lake (17 miles north of Ocala) - very nice with its own 9 hole golf course. For more central in the state, I have stayed at Tanglewood in Sebring - LOVE it

I would suggest Williston Crossings RV Resort. We stay there each winter for the past 4 years and are going back. This is a great place. The park is nice with paved roads concrete pads and concrete patios. Average sites are about 40' x 80' and many even larger than that. Park also has some character to it with lots of tree and bushes. As some mentioned above many things to do within a short drive.
