Finally got around to removing the two side window lambroquins at the rear of the rig. WE think it looks a lot better. Next up is to order some vertical blinds to replace the day/nights and rebuild the top valance to accommodate them.

That does look good. Better not let Renee see what you did or I will have a new honey do on my honey do list! Of course if she wants it I will do my best to do it for her.

Actually, mounting verticals is pretty easy. The valances need to be extended away from the wall by about an inch to accommodate the swing of the blinds, but the fabric from the lambroquins can be used to cover it. Might even be able to wrap it with what's on the ends of the top valance. The two smaller side ones need to be rebuilt to remove the curve at the top so the hardware will mount to it and secure to the bottom of the cabinets. It's pretty flimsy, anyways, so I'll make them from 1/2" plywood and wrap them with the fabric from the originals.
