Rally update from the Belettis:

Nancy and I arrived at the MI rally venue yesterday (Wed) around 6pm. We missed a large group that went to the casino for half-price dinner. I heard stories of some prime rib and fish and one story of a blackened prime rib that was amazing. Oh well - that's okay, we had leftovers to eat up.

This morning, Nancy and I went to nearby Crane Orchards to meet some former Chicago friends, who now live in KC, MO. Had a great visit and meal and brought home a yummy cherry pie! Bette asked if she could walk Emme for us while we are gone. Aunt Bette! She's great!

This afternoon, with my assistant Jon H, I replaced the Anderson 4-Way valve in my UDC. That was NOT the fix. New water pump being sent to my home. Will replace it next week when we get home.

I was hanging out, outside my RV and people just started coming over. It was great. In the middle of that, I hatched a plan to hold an impromptu potluck breakfast at my site (236) tomorrow (Fri) at 9am. For any rally attendees reading this:
- Bring something to share and join us
- Bring a chair
- Bring table service and your drinks

We asked Bette and Lou over for dinner. Simple dinner, great people and conversation.

After dinner, we took Emme for a walk. With all the Heartlanders hanging out outside their rigs, we didn't get far. It's all good :)

Stopped by Dave Prince's place to see his new Dutchman Voltage. Really nice unit. So great to see them again and happy to see them come to a chapter rally. Though the Princes could not find a Heartland floor plan that was perfect for them in their upgrade, we're happy that they are happy.

It was dark by now and the mosquitoes were out in force. Stumbled past about 20 Heartlanders having a campfire, ran into Rex H walking Arnie, chatted for a bit and stepped inside the RV to read forum posts and emails.

See y'all tomorrow!

Another successful and fun rally potluck breakfast. I counted 30 people here at one point and I think it grew a bit from there later. Had some great breakfast items and conversation. A bunch of people heading out to the museums now. See everyone back at the CG for dinner tonight!

Well, it's Sunday morning and we're in the first wave of those who must depart today.

It's been a great rally. A time of seeing old friends and making new ones. A lot of guys were showing their mods to others and a fair amount of "fix-its" going on with guys helping each other this weekend.

The pool seemed to get a fair amount of use - especially by those who had kids with them.

Nancy and I went to the Frederik Meijer Sculpture Gardens on Friday - wow! That place was cool. We'll go back next time we're in the area. Saw a bunch of Heartlanders there too.

Yesterday's breakfast was great. Thank you to those who grilled the sausages and pancakes!

Last night's dinner was fantastic! A half-dozen Heartlanders and awesome S.O.B.s were our grill masters. Those steaks were great! Lots of great sides and desserts as always.

Chuck took a survey to find out what people did during the rally, where people would like to see us go in the future, campground recommendations etc. We had a bunch of door prizes to give away, many supplied by General RV.

We had 2 show coaches to look at - a Bighorn and a Road Warrior.

Also at the dinner last night, we had a "changing of the guard". We recognized Rick and Blanca (Traveler07) for establishing this chapter and laying a great foundation in the first 3 years. We recognized Chuck and Saundra for their work these last 2 years, further building on what Rick and Blanca started. Then we introduced our new Michigan Chapter Leaders, Gerry and Debbie Atkinson! Gerry and Debbie will start planning now and will officially take the reins in January. The Michigan Chapter will continue to be in great hands and will remain strong and vibrant.

Some of us are staying tonight and heading out tomorrow. See y'all around the campground, here or down the road!

Well Stacy and I want to thank everyone for the hospitality and we sure had a great time and will defiantly attend another Michigan rally in the future if it's held during our summer migration from the Oklahoma Heat.

For you guys traveling the Texas direction we will be having the Oklahoma Chapter's fall Rally during the weekend of 9-12 November 2012. The rally will be held at the Windstar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It is an excellent facility and the casino is Vegas quality. Thackerville is located in Southern Oklahoma, right on the Tex/OK border.

Also, any of you guys traveling south and happen through Oklahoma on Hwy 69, there is the Checotah Lake Eufaula KOA. It is located about 30 minutes from our house and we would be glad to come over and cook you guys a steak and visit.

Safe travels. DW and I will be hooking up right after lunch and start toward Kentucky. We are gonna sip our way home distillery to distillery.

Thanks again and if we don't see you again, we'll see you in Goshan at the National Rally next year.

We made it home SAFELY (get that, Mike & Jon? :D:D ) We had a really good time catching up with friends and making new ones.

For those who are in the area for a while, I definitely recommend a visit to the farmers market in Holland on Saturdays.

Debbie and I made it home this afternoon after a great 8 days at the rally campground. would highly recommend Hidden Ridge. What a great turnout, I believe the final count was 32 or 33 rigs. Great food ( too much as usual) and great times. always nice to see the old friends and meet new ones.
