Hi, my name is Liz and I joined this forum back in '07 but haven't really been active since then. I'm still not a Heartland owner but hubby and I are hoping to remedy that by June. :) We have 3 kids and will be making our 3rd cross country move this summer. I would love some tips on places to camp between CA and MA. Meantime, I'll be reading up on all the wealth of info on here and hoping to get to know the Heartland owner community better.

Welcome back Liz. That's quite a move from the desert to the east coast. Let me guess, Military Family?
There are way too many places to camp along the way to list. I suggest planning your route and then using either mapping software, google or mapquest to find RV Parks. www.rvparkreviews.com can help you with info and RV park websites too. Good Luck with your journey and travel safe. Keep us posted.

Howdy, welcome, and thanks. Being military, don't forget about the FAMCAMPS at military bases along the way. I would imagine you can get information on them from the MWR facility where you're stationed. I used to have the website on my laptop, but that was a previous one that went into the electronic version of cardiac arrest.

Welcome to a wonderful family and thank you and your family for your service. I would also recommend trying to attend a Heartland Rally if you can during your adventures going cross country. I hope you can as you will find attending just one Rally will get you hooked! Safe travels.

Thanks for your service and sacrifice. Another good source of inexpensive campgrounds are Corps of Engineer parks. They are usually well-maintained and have the basic amenities. You can view them, as well as national parks/forests on http://www.recreation.gov or you can purchase a guide "Camping with the Corps of Engineers" from amazon.com. Enjoy your travels and be safe.
