Low water drain valves

We just bought a 2017 Sundance 3280 RES. We love it so far. We plan it to be our "tiny home" year round residence. I noticed that the low water drains are exposed. I have skirted it the enitre fifthwheel with 1.5 " foam and wrap it the LWD with foam tape. Should I worry about it freezing?

I would, at a minimum, cover it with some foam pipe insulation. No need to take a chance.

Also be aware that you may need to insulate the UDC also. I usually put a layer of insulation on the bottom of the UDC and up over the controls. There is no insulation on the back side of that panel and water valves and the water pump are close enough to freeze up in really cold temps.

If you have 120V plug in the UCD...you can put a 60W light bulb in the UCD and it will help with freezing. Question, are your low point drains blue and red? You also have a fresh water tank drain that is normally near the wheels on the left side...sometimes in front of the wheels. BTW, I thought HL stopped putting in low point drains a few years back.

I think the low point drains were removed from Landmark/Landmark 365, Bighorn, and Big Country.
