His refrigerator four door nocold
Wasn't keeping cold. Norcold sends him a new tube for his lp side of the refrigerator. Picture 1 shows the gas tube that is supposed to have 8 slots, his only had five . Picture 2 shows the location of the tube to be replaced.
The norcold model number is 2118. He said he unscrewed the original and replaced it with the CORRECT TUBE.
I thought this was good information to pass on.
Hopefully this will help someone else.

Our 2118 wouldn’t cool from new and it was determined the thermostat that powers the fans failed. The tech also relocated said thermostat. Current setting is typically on 6. Any higher, it’ll freeze items on the top shelf AC or LP

I’ll describe it this way, no immediate photos...the thermostat WAS mounted on the upper left side of the fridge out of view from the upper vent grill. Utilizing a couple of short jumpers the tech relocated it to the right by screwing it directly to the right end cooling fin array.

Are you talking about outside of the fridge on the cooling unit or inside the fridge on the cooling fins near the top shelf behind the light?

What service does the cardboard perform? Nice pics, thanks.

Cardboard??? Ain’t none.

There is an aluminum baffle. OEM...
I’d guess it directs more air flow over the cooling fins from the 2 fans mounted just south of the opening

That's a huge difference. What are the before and after results

Really can’t say as the original thermostat, I believe, never worked or failed shortly upon ownership. Since replaced we keep the fridge set on 6 most of the time.
I questioned the relocation but the tech, supposedly with many years of experience, said that’s where thermostats used to be and he mounts any replacements there.
