Potable water port vent.

We recently purchased a 2014 Elkridge E289. While checking the plumbing I noticed that The potable fill port has a vent in it but no hose attached to it on the inside. I can not find any hose that may have fallen off. Is this normal and is the vent elsewhere?

We recently purchased a 2014 Elkridge E289. While checking the plumbing I noticed that The potable fill port has a vent in it but no hose attached to it on the inside. I can not find any hose that may have fallen off. Is this normal and is the vent elsewhere?

On my 2017 Elkridge E261- there is a vent hole that doesnt seem to do anything and the tank actually vents out the 2 overflows if needed. 1 on each side of the tank.
