Interesting way to extinguish an incipient Class A fire, but if it’s a gas-fed fire from a leak, you are still in trouble once the flame is knocked out. As the gas fills the space and migrates, it will find another ignition source and go boom.

Propane’s lower explosive limit is 2.1% in air.
