Recommend a smaller RV park south Texas?

We're tired of working and decided we need a break. Sooo, we are thinking of going to the coast of Texas. (Yikes! it's summer, it's hot and hurricane season!!)

DH wants to kick back in a smaller/quaint park near or on the coast, maybe between Corpus and Port Lavaca. Good restaurants/cold beer on tap a plus.

We'll park it there for a month and fly down on weekends. A local FBO will be handy..

Try Serendipity Bay Resort in Palacios. There are a couple of good Mexican food places in town and a good seafood called The Outrigger.

try the rockport fulton area. http://woodyacres.us/ This is a good place to start and an FBO is about 2 miles away.

We've spent 3 winters at Colonia del Rey RV Resort in Corpus. It's 5 minutes from Mustang Island and Padre Island. Plenty of places and all varieties of places to eat. Sorry, what's an FBO? Here's a LINK

I would also recommend Rockport-Fulton area. FBO close by. Or if you want on the beach, Port Aransas is on the island.. Pioneer RV is good,,, another one a little further down..very nice and expensive.. FBO close by also to Port Aransas.

Really lots of places to choose from in Rockport area.

For Ray,, FBO = Fixed Base Operation,,, smaller airport with some facilities for service and/or fuel, tiedowns or hanger space.

Cindy and Nick, I forgot. you are only about 30 miles from Corpus Christi. A nice place to go when (and if) it rains. Lots of place to shop and things to do. We found most of our sea glass in the rockport/fulton area.

Here are some places we checked out last winter while we were in Rockport. We stayed at Rustic Cove & loved it, Drifters is near by. We'd stay at any of these & have kept them for future reference.
