Sink pantry-type slide not working properly

A couple of days ago, two thin plastic strips with a series of metal balls (about seven or so along its 8-9" length) fell out of the slide alongside the sink. I can't figure out where exactly these came from so I can reinstall them. Now the slide is loose at the top when the slide is fully extended, although if I slide the top movable portion back in, it keeps the slide from becoming fully separated at the top.

I looked at the pantry slide alongside the refrigerator, but still can't figure out where these strips would go.

Anyone have any ideas?

Pantry Slide

Chuck.....I took a look at our pantry slide and couldn't figure out how it would come apart. There does appear to be some black plastic in the length of the top piece.

If it would help, you're welcome up and look at ours.....
