I'm new to this forum (just found y'all) and am in need of some serious help.
We have a 2009 BH (purchased used in Oct 2014).
We are having a devil of a time with our big slide (kitchen slideout). There are 2 main Lippert gears rollers under the slide (master and slave). First, one side lost a tooth, and then the other side lost one. In doing so they broke teeth out of the tracks they mesh with. We had both the gears and tracks replaced ($1300, ouch). We continued on our way in January. Now, both gears have once again lost teeth and the slide is inoperable (and we are about 1000 miles from the shop that fixed them in December). I can order the two gears and easily replace them BUT without knowing WHY this is happening I sense that I may be making these repairs time after time going forward (@ $200/set....again, OUCH!). I'm thinking there may be too much downward pressure from the slide onto the gear, but can't see how to adjust that). Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. My original dealership has no interest in helping.....explaining I purchased as-is (which I did) and did not purchase an extended warranty (which I didn't), and didn't come back to them when problem arose (which we didn't, as we were 1500 miles away and are snowbirds). I just want to fix this (at my own expense) and have it resolved. Help...!
