Slide out maintainence

I am the new owner of a 2014 Gateway 3650BH and I am looking out products to lubricate the slide outs. Protect all has a dry lubricant that states not to be used on hydraulic rams. I know my unit has hydraulic slides but does that mean this product should not be used. If so can someone recommend what should be used Thanks

Re: ATF: Gateway - Slide out maintainence

You don't have to use that product on the rams.
But you can spray the rack and pinion as well as the slide arms.

I use a silicone spray on the mechanism. If you put this on the ram be sure to wipe it off. I also use "303" on the rubbers both inside and out.

I was lead to believe that the dry spray lubricant is for the black teflon-like slide floor undersides, and maybe hard exterior surfaces sliding under seals. I would personally use a liquid or silicone lubricant on slide metal mechanical parts.

As for the rubber seals....use 3M dry silicone. You can use anything like motorcycle chain lube on the gears for the slides. It wont attract dirt. I normally just wipe off the rams. Some products could damage the ram seals.
