Slide room seal caulk

The D seal is in good shape. I am concerned about the caulking where the seal attaches to the side wall of the Heartland Wilderness 2750RL (see attached photo). The caulk is cracked and I'm not sure it serves any purpose other than cosmetic. What should I do?

Mine has done the same thing I don't think it's is there for anything but cosmetic. I think there is butyl behind the seal, some exploration might be needed to confirm.

Vertically you might not have much of a concern with this though I would clean it out and recaulk.

BUT......on my first (and current) heartland I had (and so do you) this same seam on the D seal running over the top of your rooms. This lack of caulking....we'll probably worse than what you show, lead to water intrusion which went undetected and caused me to replace a piece of floor board.

So i would not take any chances and redo the caulk.

Upon further inspection, I found the caulk was applied to only the outer aspect of each D seal and the inner aspects (closest to the slide) has no caulk. I plan to contact Heartland customer service.
