Truck versus trailer lists-what do you think?

last week I spent a good part of my time weighting the truck and trailer. It looks like my 06 3500 is over loaded. The pin weight seems to be a lot heavier that thought. With a rear ax of 6200 lbs, (3920 rear ax.just the truck) and it looks like 7180 on the axle when hitch up. I don't see what the GCVW should be? Every thing hook up and ready for the road, truck and trailer, across the scales at 23580lbs. Big Horn 3400RL was 11800 or should the hitch weight be added in. (I can drop by 200lbs by getting out of the truck, but it is hard to drive that way) The weight on the front ax doesn't change much from loaded to unloaded, and is well with in limits of 5200.
Now my next question is
GMC 3500 vs GMC3500 HD or
Dodge 3500 vs Dodge 3500HD are they different ax weights?
The more I read about the weights and load it seem the less I understand.

I'm a little confused--you said your 06 3500 is overloaded, so you're looking at a 3500 GM or 3500 Dodge? Now, if you're talking about SRW as opposed to DRW trucks then I guess that's possible. The rear axle rating of a 3500 GM DRW should be at least 8550. That's quite a bit of pin weight for a trailer with that gross weight.

W;re looking at a 3950. Awesome trailer by the way. We're also looking at the Dodge 3500 or 4500 chassis cab. If the gvw of the trailer is 18k (let's say I reach that) that means I'm left with 5k and 8k for tow vehicle wt before I go over the GCVW which is 23k(3500) 26K(4500). That doesn't leave too much wiggle room. I'm sure the 3500 GVW is greater than 5K for the 3500 and pretty close to the 8k for the 4500. Am I calculating this right?
