    What's your favorite carry weapon?

In my over 28 years of service Yes I have had to draw my weapon many times. Back in the day it was almost standard procedure on the 11pm-7am (graveyard) shift to approach any vehicle stopped with your sidearm in your hand. It was an Officer Safety thing. The only time I actually discharged my...

    Tow Vehicle Brakes

On my previous truck I got 85000 miles on the original brake pads. We have disc brakes on our RV. On our current truck we still have the original brake pads and have 57000 miles on the truck. Should get 85k or more on the pads. But also I am not a heavy braker. I see many driver wait until...

Tire solutions before pushing off fulltime

Tires are designed (wouldn't trust China bombs) to handle the ambient temperatures. The psi will increase as the tires heat up. That is one of the reasons the sidewalls indicate a cold psi. Our G114 H rated tires with a cold psi of 120 will get up to 145-148 psi while traveling in the summer...

    Awning Manual

You can tip the awning if out during the rain (no wind) to allow the rain to drain off. Also it allows you to tip the awning to block the sun if it is at an angle. Keep in mind the door might hit the awning if tipped too low.

    New from Houston!

I would suggest you buy ($507) a regional membership to Thousand Trails. You can then 'camp' at Thousand Trails Lake Conroe in Willis or Thousand Trails Columbus (Tx). You will be able to stay 14 days for free than you have to leave the system for 7 days then again 14 days etc. In the...

Brand new a/c dometic unit start up concerns

If you have the Whisper Quiet system both ACs work to cool the ENTIRE coach. So there should be cool air blowing out of all of the 'exhaust' vents. The return air vents have a piece of foam on them which is the filter and should be rinsed out periodically to keep it clean. The water that...

    Pin Weight

There are alot of variables in pin weight. Ours is 3800 on our current Landmark and was 4350 on our previous one. Not even close to the listed one. We had a 40 foot Alfa Gold that weighed 16200 and has a pin weight of 2800 but it had 3 axles.

Changing Tires & 6 pt Level Up System

Re: Changing Tires & 6pt Level Up System I would recommend you unhitch as it could cause damage to the hitch if lifted too much. I changed mine after I unhitched on side at a time.

    Crack Found on Slide

I once used awning tape (it is a clear cellophane tape) to cover a hairline crack until I got it fixed. I just wanted to seal it from water intrusion. The awning tape is very sticky and held up very well under all weather conditions.

Surviving a month in Houston with only one Air Conditioner

Set your temp on about 68-72 and leave it there. If you only have one AC unit good luck in cooling the RV in the summer heat in Houston. We are in the Houston-San Antonio area most of the time and are lucky if we can cool our unit to 77 in the summer heat. We also use a tower fan to circulate...

    Discussion thread for RV SnapPads

I know they were all on securely as they have been on without issues for months. The only thing i can figure out is when entering Buc-EEs in Bastrop TX they steep driveway caused the skid wheels to drag on the rear of the Coach (DW was following me and saw them drag) and that might of knocked...

    Limited outside power

There are 3 - 30amp fuses on the power converter that could be blown causing the converter not to work. As a temporary fix you can hook a battery charger up to the battery to keep it charged until you get the converter working. Betcha the converter came unplugged.

A/C leaking condsentation into interior 2016 Madison

I would certainly want to let the RV Repairman take care of this so it is documented since the unit is probably still under warranty, that way there is a record of the problem in case of water damage in the future.

Tow vehicle / Tire questions and issues...

Sounds to me what you are describing is not enough weight on the front of the tow vehicle which will cause the truck to wander. In other words there is too much weight on the rear of the tow vehicle. This can be caused by an improper setup of the WDH.

    Best Extended Warranty

We use the Good Sam warranty service. Most dealers and mobile servicers accept the Good Sam extended warranty and do not accept many of the others. Good Sam is not near that expensive. Besides most of the things that go wrong can be fixed by yourself.

Need help with 2010 north trail 31red.

Check the drain itself to see if debris has it stopped up. When you pull the drain (open) the water should drain out. Most units have 2 gray tanks one for the galley (kitchen) and one for the shower/sink. If you have two you should have two handles to open the tanks drain. Also some travel...

ATF: Bighorn - Whisper Quiet ducting design issue

Us too. I discovered the duct extends 36-38 inches beyond the last vent into the front and rear caps. I have blocked this dead space by making a 'dam' out of cardboard covered with aluminum AC foil tape. It has helped but what helps the most is removing the last louvered vent. There is...
