Be very careful with the towing capacities of the excursion they are not exactly 3/4 ton specs. I have a 4x4 7.3 and I had to swap in truck code rear springs to handle the tongue weight of my Torque.
The rear hitch ratings are lower compared to the trucks and the hitch is special to the...
Not being argumentative but I think a Haldex valve could easily be adapted to maintain the correct ride height of the pin box I think.
A bracket would be made to hold the auto valve attached to the two bolts on the top of the pin box. A linkage rod could could be connected to the lower shock...
Why not just install a auto valve? http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ryder/af/ryder/core/content/product/srm/oid/149814/erm/productDetail.do?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=search&utm_campaign=product&gclid=Cj0KEQiAsP-2BRCFl4Lb2NTJttEBEiQAmj2tbfCLhfRuGj8VsFMVmarvHvWUiW_e8FZU_cw5_f7hgGQaAoB68P8HAQ

Not to poopoo a good project but I have not had great luck from those valves when used in pneumatic systems, most all of them leak.
I would be happier I think with a gas rated teflon ball valve in that location. Just...
I wonder if they just pinned it out wrong (wrong color wire in the wrong spot).
After following your mods, I think I want to try this LED dimmer. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S667XZA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1L18B7SA0QTPG&coliid=IR6KTHLI08B5C&psc=1
The $50 dimmers are out of...
For that price you could do allot of damage. A little Honda inverter generator will give you a bunch of juice for $1100.
Inverters are pretty cheap these days as well. I will say though these "mods" do cost allot. I think that is why there is such a sense of pride with those that perform them.
I was afraid of that, my experiences with RV wiring are not that great either. All wiring seams to defy logic, at least when looking for wires after the fact.
I wonder if you could use the + wire going to the light from the switch to fish another wire up to it to pick up the ground.
If the two wires are already ran through the switch opening it should be pretty easy to wire in. I would just use the ground for the light. This is probably allot more difficult trying to do this when its not in front of you.
Since you peaked my curiosity so much with the LED dimmer (my bedroom has surgical brightness) I emailed JR products to get a schematic for the 15225 dimmer. I'll share it with you if they send one.
edit:This is from the inside sales rep at JR.
RED WIRE - POWER
WHITE WIRE - TO THE LIGHT...
All your mods are awesome by the way.
On the LED dimmer vs. incandescent the LED version is a PWM style. This means the actual peak to peak voltage will be 12ish volts but the duty cycle (amperage) will vary from 100% to OFF giving you full dimming of the lights. The other dimmer is probably...
This is the biggest problem I have found with all these devices, they are all amp-limited.
All my devices are 2 amp capable so having anything less is painfully slow.
Michelin sent me a letter a couple weekends ago and we reached a settlement on this second tire blowout. I no longer have the Michelins on my truck so the recall probably won't matter much.
I am SOL on the first tire though.
They tried to talk me in to K02's to replace these KO's but I could stomach the thought of it that this time.
They look like great tires and the Michelin claims rep even told me about the dropping it out of an airplane marketing video.
I told him I didn't need it to survive a airplane drop...
Just remembered this forum...
Last August on a RV trip back from Schlitterbahn the same thing happened to the 17k mile BFG All Terrains on the left rear of my Excursion, about $4600 in damage. Did the whole claim deal with Michelin who denied my claim due "to the tire was underinflated". They...
Although the ATF may work when cold I don't see a reason to not change the oil to multi-weight oil with a 0w rating. The hydraulics on a RV work so intermittently there are many choices of hydraulic fluids and engine oils that would be fine.
I would put 0w-10 synthetic engine oil in the hyd...
I used this one on a 19" dvd combo. Worked great stays tight to the wall and can be tightened so it doesn't swing during transit. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016CDE0E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use a couple of these and a bag of media. I take them out when we leave and refill them as needed. It may not do much but it gives me piece of mind. I also leave atleast one roof vent cracked with vent cover suggested above...
Don't quote me but if you download the manual http://www.happijac.com/images/pdfs/Bed-Lift%20User%20Manual2012.pdf for the bed it shows the "blocks" that are screwed to the bed frame that stop the bed sliders against the track. There are many pre punched locations for the bed blocks to go in. I...
Good thinking on the circuit breaker. Have you thought about using a contact switch on the door or actuator to break the circuit.
If combined with the breaker you would have double protection against fouling something up.
I really like that stuff thanks for sharing that link. We have some new service truck beds that could really use something like that. They even have it in black.which would look good on my trailer.

My thinking is something like this, AVS Windflector http://www.lundinternational.com/products/ventvisors-side-window-deflectors/windflector/?brand=#.U1byU1VhzN0.
