    Prayers for Malcolm & Valerie

Re: Prayers for Malcolm & Vallerie We assume some wingnut will do something totally ignorant and/or unexpected. Unfortunately, we're rarely disappointed. Always told our kids to do the same.

Do you Use these features in your Heartland RV?

We had that problem until we added the fork oil a couple of times and used the level up a few times. Since then, no popping.

    Baking in our rv

I use a pizza stone in ours and bring the oven to temp before putting anything in. Remember to take into account the altitude when you bake. Never crossed my mind when I tried to bake a cake in Reno, NV.

    Thank you Heartland!

We were also full-time during our warranty period and Heartland was there for us also. They helped us so much that we will never go to SOB!!!

Taking care of warranty issues yourself? Tired of dealing with delership service, or lack there of!

Maybe I missed it in my reading of the postings on the site where these owners were discussing, but I didn't see reference to the major repairs being done at no cost. If I missed that, my apologies.

What you never want for your RV!

The Memphis zoo is really good. We've gone to ones in many cities and this one is much better than most in our opinion. Every one on the list is worthwhile seeing (can't speak to Bass Pro in the pyramid since it opened since the last time we were in Memphis).

Do you Use these features in your Heartland RV?

We have list #s 2, 3, 5, 6 on our BH. We use them all and would not change or eliminate any of them. If we could only keep 2 of them, it would definitely be the Mor/Ryde and the 6 point leveling system.

Glad y'all weren't injured. We've traveled that specific area several times and it can make for white knuckle driving.

New Purchase with MANY problems on first trip

Our tour was not when workers were present. I would think that people on tour during production could create a liability exposure to Heartland and to their insurance companies. I know our tour included the ability to closely examine frames waiting for construction as well as units in varying...

New Purchase with MANY problems on first trip

Interesting question. I'd be interested in that answer too. I am wondering who at a dealer would do it. Salespeople won't normally do anything that removes them from the floor since they are looking for the next sale. Service departments are normally backed up with work, so techs are out...

New Purchase with MANY problems on first trip

It's a great idea, but the dealers would have to put a person on their payroll who doesn't generate income. Not sure how they would react to the idea. Dealt with many auto, truck, and RV dealers in my pre-retirement life and every one of them were bottom line focused. Martha

Cyclone 4200 vs Jayco Seismic 4212

In all the brands and floor plans we looked at over a 2 year period before our decision, we did what we called the walk test. That meant to us an evaluation of how much shaking/bounce/floor movement we felt in normal walking. We had a couple of our grandchildren accompany us for the active...

    RV park reviews

We never rely on just one review site. We've found that some people may have personality conflicts with park personnel and give a bad review just based on that. So, we check out two or three review sites for comparison. If we find common thoughts from different posters, we make our...

By (Popular?) Demand - Our Ownership Story

Have you contacted Heartland yourself? We've heard of many instances where the dealer said that they were in contact with Heartland only to discover that Heartland had never received information needed. Just saying.

    5th Wheel Choice

We both decided that the BH 3670RL was the floorplan for us. We reviewed all the options, decided on the ones we wanted (including the Yeti package for cold weather) and ordered it. Find a layout that works, look at the options, and go for it. But remember, go a little bit larger than you...

TOWMAX TIRES: I will add my recent experience

Buy new tires. We thought the same thing - that we could wait on a purchase by becoming vigilant and having someone check over the remaining tires. Nope. Next failure was a huge sidewall bulge, then an obvious separation literally overnight, and lastly another blowout with damage to the...

    Who knew this would work!

Sure! They have them for mastiffs, great Danes, St Bernards, so one of those should do. Just make sure your will is current and life insurance paid up since I don't think your body will react well to the pesticides in the collar. Good luck with that approach.

    Who knew this would work!

MrsFish and I (Martha) thought this thread would be a good place to exchange ideas for out of the box solutions for situations you have encountered with your RV. So, here goes. Irish Spring Soap doesn't just keep deer from munching plants, it also keeps mice out of your camper in storage. Martha

    Plumber's Grease to the rescue

Those are great, but I think what we were thinking of are the out of the box fixes or methods not found in the normal sources. Like using a flea collar to keep wasps (and other flying stinging insects) away from the propane tanks. Martha

What a great tip - New one to us and we've been RVers and boaters (large ones) for over 45 years. You never learn all the handy dandy tips. Just goes to show you - never assume that a hint/way to work around/alternative use for something is common knowledge. Thanks, Jim and Sheila Martha

New Member from Maryland (for now)

Welcome from another former Marylander. We did a year full-time but found a place to settle in. We still have our BH but are now whenever we feel like it timers. Didn't miss a thing we had in our big house and would make the same choice again in a heartbeat. Safe travels.
