    Traveling

We're retired any timers also. We sketch out what we want to see and divide the trip into segments. We take our time and try to stick to the rule of twos - 2 days minimum at a place, 200 miles maximum traveling, and stopping by 2 pm. Is that a hard and fast rule? Nope, but we use it as a...

    Perplexed.

We ran into it once with about the same rhetoric. We checked with other area campgrounds and found out that the "everybody around here does it" statement didn't resemble reality. But think about it - no credit cards = no real paper trail which means you could rent out one space twice.

Information on South Dakota route 87 please

We drove 87 in our truck a couple of years ago. There was a fee at that time, but good for a week if memory serves me. 87 has tunnels and switchbacks so don't even try it while pulling - that would be a very bad day. Go on Google Earth and look at the routes.

    Sidearm choice- for the wife.

In the end, the person using the gun should try it before the purchase. I love my Sig P238 and have no problems with the slide at all. I couldn't work the slide easily on a Taurus that I previously had, so it would have been useless in an emergency. Bottom line is, the ultimate user should...

how many warranty claims have you had? just total numbers please

We've had 1. Our PDI was thorough, however, and we had 3 or 4 corrections before we signed on the dotted line.

    Adding Central Vacuum

We have central vacuum and it's the one thing we can do without (storage of hose and head; changing collection bag). We don't use it any longer. Save the hassle and get a good Dyson.

Gary521, if you're looking at a new trailer, have the dealer put it in as a freebie.

    Help me decide on BH3575elite

Don't rely solely on online dating. Go meet the BH in person. Could have a different feel walking around in it. We thought we knew exactly what we wanted (SOB) until we met our BH3670RL in person.

Where would you go on your first trip?

Second avoiding parts of the Parkway while pulling. The Tail of the Dragon is fun on a motorcycle or in a sports car, I would never consider pulling our BH through it.

Year2: Build Quality is starting to worry me

That's true, John, but even I (Martha responding here) can use a screwdriver and pair of pliers to do the minor repairs I think people are talking about. Total disclosure, Paul can make many repairs himself, but we do call mobile services more often than not these days when it involves crawling...

Terrible Service from Cyclone Dealer and Heartland RV.

I ran a division which was pure customer service. My staff knew that phone messages had to be returned within 24 hours with Friday calls returned Monday morning. Even if the returned call only said, "I'm working on your problem and will be back to you on _____ with a status." No excuses for...

Terrible Service from Cyclone Dealer and Heartland RV.

I suppose we're not as patient as you. If a person tells me they'll return my call or get back to me, I give them 48 hours. Then I do a second call. I rarely have to do any more calls.

Got to the camp site. A couple newbie mistakes.

We do the truck keys simply because we're not going anywhere without them.

Got to the camp site. A couple newbie mistakes.

We hang the truck keys from the crank for the antenna. We both walk totally around the truck and trailer before leaving. Of course, that doesn't mean we won't lay something on a picnic table and drive off without it.

Not getting "Warm Fuzzies". Please help restore my faith.

We full-timed in our BH for a year traveling coast to coast round trip twice. No problems, can't say that, but we did address our problems when they cropped up rather than allowing a small problem to become huge and costly. We still do extended trips in our BH and use it as our hotel. We...

My point exactly! I'm not one of the complainers. Oh, and I believe from what I remember we were told during our factory tour that the cabinets are also built by vendors and placed into the trailer during assembly. My point which I guess I wasn't clear on is that complaints about the lack of...

Folks, are you forgetting the massive recalls on Toyotas? The exploding airbags that kill? Look, as long as humans are assembling RVs or cars or making parts for them, there are going to be screw ups. We have as high expectations as the next person, but we are also realistic about those...

How does an Escapee SnB address work with a satellite TV service for billing and channels?

We never had an issue changing locations with Dish. Just start the conversation with "I'm in an RV and we changed locations." As for billing, we set up pay on line, used our mailing address and no problems.

    BH3875FB - IT'S HERE!! Now what????

Of course they want their money first! - DON'T DO IT! Make sure you do a thorough PDI first and make sure every feature you ordered is present. Push all the buttons, check every water connection, know how everything works and, if it doesn't work or it's not just right, don't complete the...
