For what its worth, three different manufacturers I talked with all recommended using a urethane/polyurethane product rather than a silicone. If someone has good luck with a silicone, thats great...definitely use what works best for you. I have not had an easy time with silicones. One issue with...
We do this all the time. Never really knock on doors as such but catch people when they are around the camp fire or out walking. So far we have not met with any adverse response. Most people are very friendly.
PS Sometimes I will wear a Heartland hat, coat or something, which often initiates a...
AnaLyn and I have also lost some very special companions and understand exactly how difficult it is. We are so sorry! Bless Ruby for all the joy and love she shared with both of you over the years.
FYI I just talked with Atwood and they would not replace the end caps on my ladder...of which 6 are now broken (I weigh 190lbs). Apparently they will if you are within the 1-year warranty!
They also sent me a link to PARTS. The end caps are $5.50!
I am sorry for your problem. I can't believe a dealership would actually mount something that way! That is one of the worse intallations I have ever seen! I am sure it an be fixed though so hang in there!
Best Wishes!
Many owners do this with satisfactory results however, the recommendation of the seal manufacturer is not to lube the rubber wipes. HERE is a previous thread on the issue.
Awesome! Will it remain available at YouTube or on this forum so Chapter leaders can include a link for new forum and club members when we get those "new member" email notices?
I just use Blue Coral Auto wash nothing special. It seems to work fine. If there is a heavy wax build-up you might want to use Dawn dish soap or something similar. It does a pretty good job removing the wax. Never tired the Extreme Clean I guess because Rejex products are not readily available...
I have read of a few instances of this occurring when they changed to the gray color scheme in the 2011 models. Ours is a 2011 manufactured in Sept 2009. The day I took delivery I coated both front a rear caps with Rejex and continued to do so twice yearly. We have side-stepped the fading but I...
I have used it for years on my bikes and now on my Big Country. It is not a cleaner but a "sealer". If you apply it to a clean, new surface, it will keep it in great condition and make bug removal extremely easy by comparison to other products. HERE is a link to the Rejex FAQ's.

Re: Airconditioner Manual
You could start at the Dometic site...HERE is the manual for the Comfort Control Center and HERE is Installation information for DuoTherms. Many more documents available HERE. Couldn't find any "troubleshooting" information but perhaps some of this will help.
Best Wishes!
First time in many years we have seen diesel less than regular. Seems WA is still one of the highest priced states in the nation and unfortunately Bellingham/Lynden the highest in the state. Not going to complain too much as long as it is on the dowwnslide! $4.23 for regular and $3.85 for diesel!
Since your rig is new, I would use Rejex on the caps as it is an excellent product for UV protection and it makes bug removal a breeze. The rest can be done with any good quality wax...I have used Tech2 and NuFinish both which I like. The Tech2 seems to last a bit longer and it smells good...
Well...what system are you looking at? Most do a good job. I have a TST. I like the fact that is also shows tire temp. I guess that is not necessary but fun to watch anyway. It has worked great so far. I have had it for three years now so if I was looking today...I would look for a system that...
I didn't think water was the issue either but as it turned out, that was what caused the wrinkles. You might remove the pinbox cover and look at the trim screws on the end...water would drip out this area on mine. After re-sealing the entire fromt cap with no success, I discovered water was...
We have some "printing" of sorts in a coupe of areas. Looks like it could be a screw/rivet head or for that matter a scrap of construction material. Like you said, doesn't look like a delamination or water intrusion just because of the location and no other indications of damage. I have seen...
It's been messed up out here too! Also have trouble viewing images...actually have to right click and open attachment to see photos rather than simply clicking the thumbnail. Works that way but a little tedious.
Pretty common for EPDM roofs or TPO for that matter to have some bubbles/wrinkles. All my RV's had a few. They should present no problem unless they begin to grow in size!
Best Wishes!
Re: Crack in the outter wall?
I am so sorry for the issue. I understand that same sick feeling when our bulkhead had a leak and resulted in a wrinkled surface. Also looks like we might have a delamination problem the full length of a side wall.
Hopefully it is cosmetic rather than structural...
It can be difficult recommending parks as everyone has such diverse likes and dislikes. I can suggest a few I am familiar with understanding we prefer private parks most often and places that lean toward quiet rather than too busy (we are old).
Here are a few for starters! Most of the Oregon...
Thanks for the information! 303 is a great product. I really like it for plastic, vinyl and rubber parts including my tires. Don't know how it works with bug removal as I use Rejex on the front cap. I can assure you Rejex does help with bug removal. I use it on my bike too!
This may be wrong but...I believe the 3450TS has the 12" frame and as I recall, our cabinet stiles are paper-covered particle board but if they are not, I would be a much happier camper!
I can't be of much help but one difference is cabinet material...Landmarks use solid wood stiles perhaps this would add some weight. Our BC has a TPO roof. Pin weight calculated at the local CAT scale ready to camp, very little fresh water, and no washer/dryer or generator is 2480lbs. We opted...
We have that same looking impression on a wall of our Big Country although not quite as extreme. I thought it "printing" of something inside the walls. It doesn't push in and it seems like something so symmetrical would not be water intrusion. No leaks in that area. I am curious what you find...
After you get the initial "bugs" worked out I am sure you will have great service from the Big Country. We really enjoy ours! Seems like there are always a few things to tweek on a new rig!
Best Wishes!
Color me nutty...but I enjoy waxing the Big Country. Takes me four or five days doing it in quarter sections. Gives me a chance to see everything up close like caulking etc. I use Rejex on the caps and usually Tech2 on the rest or sometimes NuFinish. Call it therapy!
Hello! Welcome to the forum and hopefully the group of happy Heartland owners! I can't really give you any insight on the Elkridge model you are looking at but I can say that Heartland makes great products and has Customer Service second to none.
Best Wishes in your Quest!
PS We remember well...
From the Heartland Warranty pages in the manual...
Heartland RV provides to the original retail purchaser who purchases the unit from an authorized dealer and who uses the vehicle for private single family recreational travel, camping and seasonal usage a one (1) year warranty under normal use...
We went from a 30' SOB to our 38' Big Country and had some similar concerns as you regarding campsites. Although there are a few state parks that might have difficulty accommodating that length we have found the bigger issue is access to the site. Most state parks (at least here in WA) have...
