Bias ply or Radial tires ??

Jeez, my last post sounds like I'm selling the tires. LOL We had new Maxxis radials put on our trailer Saturday, we are so happy! Now we can travel a little safer we hope. Glen said he didn't notice much difference, but then again he only had to tow the trailer 4 miles home.

Bias ply or Radial tires ??

We stopped by our local tire shop, it's been run by the same local family for decades and decades, the owner said he can get Maxxis tires for us. I've been doing loads of reading the last few days and except for one lone person, I haven't read anything bad about Maxxis tires, quite the contrary.

    Booth or dinette

Booth, I have been camping for 55 years (since childhood) in rigs with booths, it's just not camping for me if I don't have a booth to sit at and play cards and backgammon.

Bias ply or Radial tires ??

Thank you fellow North Trailers :) We have already decided, since a couple hours ago, after much reading that yes of course radials are the only way to go. Now we just have to figure out which brand to get.

Bias ply or Radial tires ??

Need to pick the brains of other trailerites. We are going to replace our tires on our trailer. One is cracked, so no sense waiting for the others to follow suit! We have been reading how much better Radial's are than Ply tires, we are pretty sure we will get Radial ST trailer tires. But I'd...

simple survey -Travel with Refrigator On?

We always leave it on and in the 2 Motorhomes we had prior to this TT we left it on all the time too.

side to side, we just put the same size boards under both of the tires on the low side, we carry various sizes. We have also found that we leave the side with the slide-out a bit on the high side, after we run the slide out, the trailer will be level then.

Travel with blinds up or down?

The only blinds we had were behind the kitchen sink and I put up an extension rod and hung up some nice little curtains, because the blinds drove nuts. But when they were there, we kept them up while going down the road. The pleaded blinds are usually up, except the one by the bed.

Slide Leaks Rain Water into Trailer

Pretty much. There is still some slight dampness when the slide is out and it is raining cats and dogs. It's behind the couch, right where the bottom seam of the slide is. We have redone all the caulking and got a new seal, you name, it is has been done. Hang in there tomsheathillside, I felt...

Take it easy on the Heartland wannabe!

We really do like this trailer, we are getting ready for another 2 week trip, going to to Idaho and Montana. Last year we went to Northern California and had a blast going down bumpy old hilly highway 101. For two people and a Schnauzer we have loads of room. Ah yes it is a great quote and so...

Take it easy on the Heartland wannabe!

I don't want to get acused of bashing. We had a lot of ongoing problems when we got our trailer last year. The majority of them were the ongoing slide leak, no it didn't leak when it was in or going down the road. We have an awning topper and we like it, it keeps crap from falling on the top of...

Trailer seems to be too low/scrapes the decline as we leave gas stations

The only thing that has scraped when leaving our driveway and gas stations is the sewer connection, so my husband shortened it 2 inches, we should be good now!

Where's the Quality Control at the Factory

Wow, we are people who have worked out butts off all of our lives and scrimped and save every penny we have all by ourselves. This new truck and new trailer are our retirement rewards to ourselves and consider ourselves very lucky to have been able to buy our new rigs. But we can still expect...

Take it easy on the Heartland wannabe!

We have the 24RBS and the small depth kitchen slide is more than enough for us, it is amazing how much it opens up the trailer. And we have plenty of room for everything we need and don't forget you can also put anything "overflow" in the back of you truck. And also the storage in the pass...

New owner of Heartland North Trail trailer

The only problem we have ever had, is because the holding tanks drain is so low, it almost drags coming in and out of our driveway. My husband cut a few inches off of it, so now it is higher and won't scrape. That was any easy fix!

    Rear wall very wet

You would think you could get through the first year without having to reseal practically the entire trailer yourselves. Last year our brand new trailer spent more time at the...

Windy at the beach-electric awning headache

I'm afraid there is nothing else you can do but bring it in when it is windy and never leave it out unattended. Awnings are made for shade on a nice sunny, calm day.

Does anybody actually measure the length of your trailer to see if it's over their max.

Re: Does anybody actually measure the lenght of your trailer to see if it's over their max. We have found so far, even in a smaller spot, we can back the trailer in and have it hanging over the end of the campsite, the cement stop at the end is generally low enough for us to clear.

NT 28BRS Cover and the Arizona sun

We had a cover on ours over the winter, and we had lots of wind and a dandy ice storm and snow and ice on it for days. We bought the more expensive tan one. And they will replace it for up to 3 years. It has two zippered openings so you can get into your trailer really easily while it is...

ATF: North Trail - Dimple / Indentation on front of travel trailer

Ours has a slight dimple too, pretty much right in the middle above the diamond plating, you don't even notice it unless you look at it from the right angle. When I mentioned it to the dealer he said they all have that, it is normal, but then again our dealer told us a lot of things.

What do you do for towel rods

That's what we use, we have 2 on the bathroom door. One for the bathroom and the other one on the outside of the door, it is really handy when we come in from outside and are too lazy to open up the closet door and put our shirts/jackets away. If you go to a Marshall's store you can buy these...

While at home... RV plugged in? Refer on?

Plugged in, but refer off. We take everything out off the refer when we get home from a trip. Let it defrost and clean it up good. Leave the refer doors open for a few days so it is completely dry inside. We do like to go out and sit in the trailer and put the awning out and "pretend camp"...

A trailerite friend of ours told us he always used Bearing Buddies on his travel trailer. Anybody else have any experience with using them ?
