lol...no...I work in this industry... So does Jenni...she is the assistant editor for the AMA's Model Aviation magizine...so we travel a lot to events around the country. I was very happy with the storage areas in the Gateway...I have found places to store most of those Heli's out of site. We...

Wanted, idea's for a model R/C rack for my cyclone...

You need to go all Helicopters...much easier to travel with...photo is of ramp door on my SOB Toyhauler that I traded in for the Heartland Gateway. I normally carried a 30cc fixed wing strapped to the ceiling also. The heli's worked great by just using "eyehooks"

    so impressed with new gateway!!!

Glad you guys made it back OK...with only that one exciting slide. Only problem I have had on bad roads was a 48 hour trip to GA on New Year's Day about 6 years ago! Started off 90 minutes into trip by missing a turn on a secondary road in PA...GPS showed an easy "2 right turns" to get back on...

    Truck bed cover

I have been very happy with my Trifecta by Extang. It has been on my 2008 450 for 5 years now and have not had any issues with it. It is a tri-fold unit and if you have an 8' bed it works great to leave the hitch area open when folded up, but my coolers, gas cans, etc still are under the...

2 New TV Technologies to Try Out

Another good choice would be the Roku 3 box. The remote for the Roku 3 is "RF" not "IR" so you can hide the roku box behind the TV or in a cabinet next to TV and not need directly line of sight for the remote to work. I do like the Chromecast...but for me it doesn't have enough choices...

Things you had to fix on your first outting in your Gateway?

I put my Island so the back portion sits just forward of the two slide front molding, but NOT on the rear floor register...I replaced the plastic floor registers with some nice looking metal ones that can be closed off...so I butt the rear island wheel up to the floor register. I wish the...

    so impressed with new gateway!!!

Priorguy, looking at the Heartland website, I would say that Heartland has brought it in as the bottom tier of there "Luxury" 5th Wheel line. Price wise it is below the Bighorn Series. But it is well appointed with some standard options not normally seen with two ducted A/C units Standard...

    so impressed with new gateway!!!

Old Goat...I am bummed...looks like the weather isn't going to hold out for us to take the RV to Ohio over Thanksgiving. I really don't like towing through snow...not only the safety reasons, but just the dang salt they use on the roads in IN and OH... Hopefully all this mess is past us to...

    iPad for gps nav?

As the the others have said, if you don't have a iPad that is cellular ready then it won't be able to function as a GPS navigator on the road as it doesn't have a GPS Chip installed. It does have "wifi assisted gps" which can find your position within a few miles using Wifi "triangulation", but...

    New to Heartland Gateway 3200RS

We have only had our 3200RS for about 3 months or so now but have been out with it 4 times now for about 25 nights. We will be taking it to Ohio for Thanksgiving (weather permitting). Jenni and I were glad we kept our memory foam bed topper from our 2008 ToyHauler as we did the same thing you guys did...slept out in the camper while in the driveway to check out the bed. I am getting old enough where I am really thinking about spending the money for one of those "sleep...

Yeah...small world for sure! I am sure not many people outside northern Oregon have every heard of Umatilla! I am not sure I like this "rubber" feeling floor yet. Where ever you have anything heavy sitting (like the island casters or slide rollers) there is an indentation that does after a...

Things you had to fix on your first outting in your Gateway?

Martelds, just got off the phone with a couple of nice Gents from Heartland that took my info and put notes in to their system under my VIN about the issue with the punctured recliner backs. Not really sure what will come of it? It would be nice to have the recliners either fixed or replaced...

Things you had to fix on your first outting in your Gateway?

Martelds, sounds like this is a repeat of mine. My 3200 is at the dealers now for a laundry list of issues I found during the first 3 months. Including the kitchen slide causing issues with flooring, but appears not maybe as bad as yours as I don't thinks ours will require replacement...

Oldgoat...if no one else has answered it yet..that "unmarked" switch is your Tank Heaters. +1 on jlb27537 comment! Although over the past 5 years I have had plenty of "think you got a big enough truck" comments from people. I bought my 2008 F450 with the intention of it being my TV for many years and wanted to get a truck that I felt would be good for any size RV I decided to...
