    Georgia Class E License?

Thanks for the info! Do you recall how many questions are one the test? I've got the book and I'm studying up.

    Georgia Class E License?

Howdy - I'm trying to find anyone who has gone through this potential license class "upgrade" process? What did you have to do, how difficult was it, etc? With the purchase of our SportChassis, I'm uncovering more interesting things, such as probably being required to have a class E driver's...

Looking for info on LCI LevelUp OneControl touch panel

I am super curious now as to what you have. Any chance of getting pictures of your screen(s), controls, etc for whatever you do have? I don't have any pics of our system handy, but I'm going over to our storage building late this weekend and will get some. I'd like to compare what we have...

Looking for info on LCI LevelUp OneControl touch panel

We have a completely different trailer, but same system minus the leveler board. I may add it and the new remote control system that I believe may be cell based. Our wifi hub and related networking gear is mounted up-side-down to the roof of the cabinet that also contains all of the built-in...

XM WIRED TV, Anyone using it?

Nope. Nope. Nope. Here is a bottle of snake oil for you with a side of nope. :D I almost can't believe someone would dare promote this thing in person. It saddens me that all it takes is someone not knowledgable of how these things work to fall victim to being foisted into engaging in the...

    MDT Sport Chassis Insurace

Well we finally found the secret key to the kingdom, or something like that so I thought I'd put some closure on this and thanks to everyone for helping with the suggestions. I called National General and asked all the prevailing questions I had developed talking to many others. On interesting...

    MDT Sport Chassis Insurace

Just a quick update on my search. I called Geico again, they threw me at commercial and they did finally come back with $8500/yr. I had a real good laugh at that one. Called Progressive again and finally got someone who said I have to call an agent, and that agents apparently have more...

    MDT Sport Chassis Insurace

MDT Sport Chassis Insurance Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find insurance for a truck such as a Sport Chassis? So far it's proving elusive, Geico and Progressive won't touch it. I'm doing my pre-purchase homework, and so far insuring the beast is proving to be a challenge...

    Road Warrior Towing Bounce

I haven't read through this whole thread, but we had a significant chucking issue with our RW (lateral forward and back motion) when going over bumps and such on the highway which I attributed to us having 3 axles worth of rubber on the ground. We went Trail-Air and you can see the original...

    Residential Refrigerators

I never, ever want one of those RV gas absorption refrigerators in any of my coaches again. I can unfortunately count on my hands and toes the number I've seen in person having burnt up a rig. I will go residential from now on, and we're on our second coach with one. Our first was early...

Cleaning the dishwasher's interior and filters

Heh, I was going to go there as well. I'm not sure which dishwasher you have, but the interior of ours is stainless, so no discoloration issues there. To clean the fine filter... wait for it.... Take it home and run it through the dishwasher in the house if you can...

Will All Road Warriors Please Stand Up! Represent Your Warrior!

I generally agree, but ours kept coming back on the Big Horn. I think this was after the third scrubbing, and it was around that time we just no longer had to worry about the whole thing.

Will All Road Warriors Please Stand Up! Represent Your Warrior!

Good luck and I'd be real meticulous on doing inspections of the roof install as it proceeds, if you can. I'd try to get a look at it immediately after the old roof is off which gives you a chance to see any post-factory install damage. Then, after the new roof is on and sealed but before the...

Will All Road Warriors Please Stand Up! Represent Your Warrior!

Interesting, same thing with that staining happened to our Big Horn. They did nothing for us on it. I'd maybe feel good about having a new roof put on, IF it's being done right by someone super competent. Factory quality/production line roof vs aftermarket replacement and having it done...

"Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog"

It went great for us. It wasn't without it's events. We got caught in the tropical storm the developed over us while in St. Augustine prior to arriving at the Fort. While at the Fort, they had a power outage (not weather related) that lasted maybe a good 6+ hours. We were super thankful it...

Will All Road Warriors Please Stand Up! Represent Your Warrior!

2016 Road Warrior 420 pulled by a 2014 Ram 3500 @ Cherry Hill in Maryland: We are quite the showstopper wherever we go lately, both at Cherry Hill and Fort Wilderness. Everyone going by stopped to look, point, ask questions if we were out. When we packed up to leave, that evening someone...

    Hello

The carpet in the RW is a loose pile carpet. It tends to lay down a look a bit matted after a couple days of being walked on. We have both the central vac and a Dyson for it's beater bar attachment to re-fluff the carpet and deep clean it. The central vac does not come with one. Just...

    Hello

The 427 has the Lippert 6-point hydraulic leveling system. All of the landing gear, front, mid-ship and rear are hydraulic.

ATF: Road Warrior - Possibly dangerous front door

If you are having to "slam" the door to get it to latch, the strike plate needs to be adjusted. We had to adjust ours a little bit as well a few weeks ago now for the same reason. Expect more small adjustments like this as necessary while things settle in during the first year of use.

    My Heartland experience

To the OP, keep your chin up, it'll hopefully get better! Our RW 420 has been an absolute pleasure to own. Every ownership experience is different, some night and day from one to another. Some can be a real nightmare without the proper support at the right time. This thread reminds me of...

    Sleep Number Bed

We too like many had one in the house, it lasted nearly 15 years before the side rails broke down, and we could have replaced them at that point but the pillow top was also showing some real wear. During our ownership we had to replace the memory foam pad that was just below the pillow top...

    GoodSam Credit card blues

The other huge advantage IMO to filling up in the truck lanes with the swipe and go, is being able to get bulk DEF right off the pump. This is way better than dealing with the jugs.

    Medium Duty Hauler Itch

I'm fairly certain we can't with the Trail-Air pin box, I think I read somewhere that Lippert does not want you using any adapters with it. I don't like adapters in general, it's another piece of equipment between you and your trailer. My hoarder tendencies told us to save our original pin...

    The things you see...

I think so and we've made contact with someone in the park who knows and is good friends with one of the officers. We've seen the officer drive through several times, every time we stay here, and our back-up plan was to try and catch him going through and casually ask him about it. We have...

    GoodSam Credit card blues

We have to fuel with semi's in most Flyin J's and that is usually the only option at Pilots due to the size/length of our rig. We don't like to risk getting trapped at the turn out for the RV islands, most of them are too close to the store for us to get out safely. This pre-auth issue is...

Thanks for the tips! I've also been looking over FL60's as I'm open to getting the right combination of value and specs. I keep running in to most of the trucks having been set-up for goose neck ball only. It seems something already set-up with a 5th wheel plate (or trailer saver...

It really sorta makes me sad in a way. I had another opportunity to approach him yesterday in passing while walking and try to strike up a conversation but he just wasn't having it. I feel like I want to call or tell someone with more authority to directly approach him about it, but I'm not...

Not long after the other thread started started about the Little Engine that Could, a gentleman driving a 35'ish foot motorhome (class A) pulls in here to Cherry Hill, where we're at near DC. He's pulling a very late model Honda CR-V on a wood deck flat bed trailer that was basically too small...

King bed Demensions on a RW 420

There is no 69" wide king mattress that I'm aware of. The mattress in our Road Warrior 420 is a "California King" at 72" wide x 84" long, and I just measured it to confirm. "RV Kings" are usually a little shorter at 72" wide x 80" long. I thought we had a RV king, but that explains why normal...

    Meter for aiming Sat dish

You have to be a member of the secret society of satellite dish aiming app'ers and meter users to get this info because no one will post it publicly it seems. I used a BirDog satellite aimer when I was an install tech manager for Echostar back in the day, I don't know what people...

Trailer Brakes and RAM Integrated Brake Controller

Weird! On our 2014 Big Horn 3610RE we had the exact same concerns out of our 2014 3500 (both in sig), controller set heavy electric and 10 on gain. I complained and complained to both Dodge and Heartland, and I concluded that the brakes just simply sucked on the BH, and even with adjustments...

    Medium Duty Hauler Itch

Well, as I've always said, when I get the itch for a new truck, there isn't much more to be had in the world of 1-ton duallys. To upgrade for me, it's time to start looking at a MDT, something along the lines of a Freightliner M2 106, Sportchassis type affair. There's a lot of options out...

"Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog"

We average about 40 days per year at Fort Wilderness. We typically stay at the end of the 700 loop, or at the rear-most end of the 600 loop against the road. I've never seen more than a 15 minutes wait for an in park bus, which are mostly not needed from either of those loops. We always stay...

    Overheated Goat

How did you manage to get all three of your A/Cs running? While we were in Florida, we were really wishing we had that figured out. I've seen others mention some wiring changes needed, was mostly wondering where should I start to make that happen.

Road Warrior Electronic Tablet Control Panel Problems

In the underbelly, behind the wall in the storage compartment - most likely passenger side, you will find the mainboard for the system. On that mainboard are the control modules and there are various manual switches to operate your various electrical functions as a backup if the network dies...

Adding Heat Pumps to Existing A/C units

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but only if you quantify "inexpensive" as being ok with the cost of fully replacing each A/C unit on the roof (and labor if not DIY). It is not an add-on component like a traditional heat strip, so the entire A/C unit has to be replaced. They use a...
