I was having issues with my 2100XC. All the lights were on and we couldn’t get it to do anything. For a few times the “fix” was to unplug it or turn off the breaker for 15-20 seconds and then it would work. Well it finally quit working. After doing some research, I learned that the lights all...
I usually make pizza every trip we take. I’ll always make extra to share with fellow campers as it’s a good way to make new friends. Here’s how I do it in case anyone is interested.

I decided to upgrade my shower.
Removed panel to access valve
Removed the shower fixture
Connect water lines
Shower tower done!
This is probably not good for boondocking or those with limited water. I’m guessing my next addition with be a tankless water heater as I’m sure the DW...
For those that have done a disc brake conversion , can you offer some guidance on a couple things I’m wrestling with?
Is it necessarily better to have 1/4” main line vs. 3/16”? The research I’ve done shows conflicting results, since you need reducers to the hydraulic brake actuator and the...
I’m sure this has probably been discussed before but I’ll ask....
Well the time has come that the DW wants satellite for the trailer. I’m trying to decide which to buy. I have directv at home. Here’s what I’m considering
King domed automatic satellite KING Quest Fully Automatic Portable...
Even though I no longer own a heartland Rv, I still visit the forum regularly for tips and mod ideas. I did a mod to my SOB trailer that some may find interesting. I replaced my oven with an induction cooktop. We have never used the oven (except for storage) so I thought why not get rid of it...
We are trading in our Elkridge for another brand Fifth wheel. Sad to see it go but excited about the memories to be made with the new rig. Thanks to all of the HOF members who give their knowledge and expertise to make this such a great forum.

I noticed I've been losing air on one of my tires. So I took the tire off to see if I could find where the leak was coming from. I dipped the tire into a big tub and to my surprise it was not the tire leaking air. It was a crack in the rim. I'm going to try to get it covered by warranty...
I have a norcold 4 door fridge. It's been on "cooling down" now for about 32 hrs.
The freezer is working fine. Temp around 5 degrees. Fridge on the other hand is struggling to get under 46.
I have computer fans inside the fridge for air circulation and usually it cools down to 35 within 12...
Got home from camping today. Checked my tank levels because I didn't want to hold up the line at the dump station when we left the park. Fresh water tank read 1/3 full. Hmmmm. It's only had water put in it at the PDI and I drained it all out (so I thought since sensor was always on "E". )
So I...
After reading John D's post about his flat springs, I went out to check mine. They are ok but I noticed a pretty good bow in the axles. Is this normal? They are dexter 7k axles.
I have access to a nice stackable frigidaire washer and dryer from a condo I'm renovating. My question is can the gas dryer run on an independent 20 lb propane tank? I know I can convert the orifice to run on propane. An independent tank would be easier to do rather than running an extra gas...
Got to campsite today. Tried to put x-chocks on the off door side and they wouldn't fit. Scratching my head I thought wth?? After closer inspection I realized the treads seem to be separating. Now I need to find a local tire shop (we are 4 hrs from home) to get these time bombs off.
Guess I'm...
I always plug my camper into a 110v gfi outlet in my garage using a 100' extension cord. Now all of a sudden, the gfi trips almost immediately after I plug it in. I have checked the plug itself (by using a circular saw and a shop vac), made sure nothing was left on inside the camper, turned off...
You know you spend too much time Rv-ing when you can get unhitched and set up in less than 10 minutes....
When your wife can spot some rookie who doesn't have his WDH properly set up....
When you facetiously tell your wife you're going to call the weight police on the guy pulling a giant rig...
After much reading, I believe I will be upgrading my standard pin box for the airborne sidewinder. Does anyone have experience with this? I like the idea of the sidewinder to help with tight turns and better tracking. Does it work as they claim?
My 38RSRT has a 15.5k GVWR. Am I ok with the 16k...
Can someone give me a recommendation for a good tpms? I've heard of tire minder and TST. Is one better than the other? I know the tire minder lets you replace dead batteries on the caps but that's about it. What model(s) should I look at?
I asked the tech about this during my PDI today and he said the open the hydraulic line and bleed it. WTH??? I'm sure I read somewhere about an Allen wrench cut off for a drill. Is that correct and is the little hole in the basement behind the hydraulics the place to insert the Allen wrench?
Thanks
We were supposed to bring our new 38 rsrt home today. Well, that didn't happen. The tech didn't seem to really know what he was doing. The trailer was a unit off the showroom floor and had some minor issues but nothing I thought were too bad. However, after a few minutes inside the rig, it...
We are about to get a new 38tsrt. The salesman claims we don't need a slider. So does the elkridge brochure and video I've watched. But, everything I've ever heard was you still need a slider, even if the fifth wheel has the short bed friendly cap. Do I need a slider or not?
Hello. I'm considering getting this 5er. Anyone else with this unit have experience good or bad with it? I've had other travel trailers (not Heartland) but never a fifth wheel. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback. Thanks!
