    BH 3750FL Question

My questions probably pertain to my truck but here it goes. Were contemplating purchasing a 41' BH3750FL, this will be the biggest 5th wheel we've ever owned. I have a 2011 Chevy 1 ton diesel single rear wheel (non-dually) so do you think I have more camper than truck? We have has a 34' BH3010RE...

Type of wax for the Big Horn

Good Day Folks!! I suppose this question has been asked a 100 times but what type of exterior wax do you use on your siding? I have a 2014 3010RE Big Horn, which I'm not even sure what type of siding is on the 3010. Thanks everyone, be safe!

    Greystone Fireplace

In our 2014 3010RE Big Horn the fireplace has been operating properly but today when we turned it on you could see the heating element glow a bright orange and then the element and the blower fan shut off. The background "flames" still work. The element got so hot you couldn't touch the front of...

    Over flowing Fresh Water Tank

Good Day danemayer...so there is a vent somewhere on our 2014 BH? There almost has to be so the water pump can get water out of the tank. Then it is feasible to assume that excess water could flood the bottom of our unit though this vent.

    Over flowing Fresh Water Tank

WDK450...thanks for the rotten wood tip, I will keep this in mind. Did you notice if the fresh water tank has a vent on it and that's where your "leak" was coming from. It seems to me if your drawing water from the fresh water tank using the onboard water pump, you would need a vent, say on top...

    Over flowing Fresh Water Tank

Thank you all for making me feel better about the causes of our water over flow, I feel a lot better about how to fix it in the future if I need to. BUT...has anyone tried to adjust any of your slide outs? One side of my bedroom slide sticks out 1/2 inch further than the other and Don at...

    Over flowing Fresh Water Tank

Thanks for the link for the manual, it did answer a few questions. Did you buy the Shurflo check valve or buy it at Lowes or Home Depot?

    Over flowing Fresh Water Tank

Very interesting, you surmised you fresh water tank overflowed at some point, doesn't your unit have an external overflow outlet spicket? My does but one time I had LOTS of what appeared to be fresh water pouring out of the bottom of our unit and the overflow spicket. I'm still not sure where...

    Over flowing Fresh Water Tank

I've been working with Don at the factory, who has been very helpful, on this puzzling issue. The fresh water tank will fill up and overflow on its own. Don sent us a Anderson valve to correct the problem but it didn't help. Any ideas? Also, have any readers attempted to adjust any of your...

    Antenna TV Interference

Jim...thanks for the suggestions but the only one I haven't tried is tightening the ceiling fixtures which I will. Troubleshooting this issue on the Sundance I determined that the +12vdc was not being loaded down when I turned on the bedroom lights, bathroom lights or bathroom fan but I did...

    Antenna TV Interference

Were having the same problem with our 2014 BH 3010RE as we had with our 2009 Sundance. When we turn on the bedroom lights or the welcome home light comes on we lose TV signals to both living room and bed room TV's. Some time ago I saw threads saying other Heartland owners were having the same...

    Drain For What?

Thanks everyone for your input. I keep water in the fresh water tank esp when we travel, so I'm now agreeing it is fresh water overflow, thanks again!!

    Drain For What?

During our trip from Jasper, AL to Marion, AR, we temp parked our 2013 Big Horn 3010RE at a slight angle with the exit door being the low side. We saw water coming out from under the slide out, behind the wheels, onto the ground and located under the reclining chairs. There is a blue water line...

    Big Horn 3010RE Weight

We full time in our Big Horn so I wanted to make sure I wasn't over loading the tires. I weighted both fully loaded truck and camper and the total weight came in at 23,780 lbs. I weighted the fully loaded truck and it came in at 8,480 lbs. Subtracting the two leaves me with a camper weight of...

    6 Point Leveling System

Howdy SeattleLion, my concern with the wheels off the ground for an extended period would be to the camper frame and any frame bending issues. Maybe I'm over thinking any possible damage to the camper thing!!? Before I retired I spent 2 years working in the Bremerton/Silverdale area, love it...

    6 Point Leveling System

The leveling system manual says not to lift the camper to the point where the tires are off the ground. I've read in another forum that Lippert told a Big Horn owner that it is OK to have the leveling system lift one side off the ground, what is the real answer? We full time in our 2014 Big...

    Big Horn Leveling System

Funny you mentioned this. When I first auto leveled the unit it lifted the right side of the camper off the ground. I re-leveled the camper which fixed the problem. All pads appear to be firmly on the ground, I will try putting wooden pads under each leveler, as pgmikef (thanks folks for your...

    Big Horn Leveling System

We purchased a new 2014 Big Horn 3010RE with the six point auto leveling system. We were told and it made sense the leveling system would make the camper a little more stable. After living onboard for a month the camper shakes more than when we first setup the thing although the camper moved...

To do or not to do Slide Out Toppers!

We ran into the flapping topper while in Canada last summer. What I did was I ran a small diameter rope around the entire slide out and over the topper, this kept the topper from sounding like it was getting ready to let loose from the camper!

    Four Seasons RVing

We have an opportunity to purchase a used 2013 BH3610RE for an very nice price but the unit does not have the YETI PACK or FOUR SEASONS RVING rating. We full time in our current Sundance which is not four seasons so I'm wondering what comes with the YETI PACK and FOUR SEASONS RVING package. We...

    Crappy sleeper sofa air mattress

Throw the entire couch and mattress out, replace it with a couple of comfortable reclining chairs. Use a air mattress when you need to, works great for us.

Tip: Air mattress - how to patch on the "fuzzy" side

This is how we fixed the most uncomfortable leaking mattress/couch issue, we removed it from the camper, sold it and replaced it with two very comfortable reclining chairs. We use a blow up air mattress when we have visitors, everyone is happy!

    Floors

We have a 2009 Sundance 3300SK and I had to add additional wood supports between the floor joist in both the bathroom and hallway. The exterior part( the buble) of the bathroom skylight in our 2009 Sundance 3300SK has cracked and in need of replacing. I know its a two part skylight so I'm thinking I need only the exterior dome. Size of the skylight is approximately 26.5" x 17.5" x 5"h. Other than Heartland where can I...

    Chevy Bed Length

Does anyone pull their Sundance with a Chevy 2500HD with a standard length bed? I've always had a 8 foot bed but for manuverability I'm thinking about getting a little smaller (standard) bed. I have a B&W hitch therefore I really don't want to buy a slider. Is the in dash navigation system...

We have a 2009 Sundance 3300SK, VIN: 5SFSG33229E201687 and the outside shell of the ceiling skylight in the bathroom (not the vent fan) is cracked, the inside shell of the same skylight is still in tack. Sundance Bedroom Slide Now that I have read the rules I realize I didn't include my VIN and phone number which hopefully is why the factory didn't answer my question. My question is if I brought our 2009 Sundance 3300SK unit to the factory can the queen size bedroom slide be converted into a...

    Bedroom Slide

We love our 3300SK and with the options we purchased with the unit were at home! The crazy question I have is, if I brought the 3300SK to the factory would they be able to remove the queen size slide and bed (of course) and replace it with a king size slide and bed? In our coming retirement...

    Squeaky floors

Our bathroom squeeked and sagged, ended up tearing out the ceiling of the storage compartment to get to the bathroom sub-flooring, then glued and screwed 2x3's between the existing floor joist. While it was all opened, we installed additional insulation in the bathroom and hallway.

    Extra Insulation

I have a 2009 Sundance 3300SK and I'm thinking about adding extra insulation in the kitchen and living room floor.
