Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Input

What do you mean by "towed awful"? What exactly did it do?🧐

    My New (To Me) Truck

Since I can't figure out how to insert an image into my siggy (I keep getting the "can't insert from that link" error), I'll post a shot of it here - So there she is FINALLY hooked up to the Cyclone. I'm fairly happy with how this first run went. Everything sits about like I want it to, pretty...

Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Input

Okay, I'll close the chapter on this one. 😉 I found a used B&W Companion hitch for sale, about a 2 hour drive from my house, so we fueled up the truck and drove to see it in person. The seller was more than happy to install it in my gooseneck receiver and show me how everything worked and I...

Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Input

Yeah, I did and they are very clear that from a liability standpoint their answer is "no". They won't say if it will actually work, they just make it very clear that it voids all warrantees and may cause safety issues. You can tell it's a very lawyer-forward answer, if you know what I mean. Even...

Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Input

So this was a fun one so far. I ordered the Demco gooseneck to 5th wheel base (looks exactly like the above picture, has same dimensions) and found out when it arrived that my 5th wheel won't fit on it. Even tho my 5th wheel is a Pullrite Super 5th, which states on the website "Uses Industry...

Appreciate the input Robert., that helps me feel a lot better. I think this is the best option for my situation.

Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Input

Hey gang, I've searched this forum but only seem to find threads on using something like the Ranch Hitch adapter that converts from 5th wheel to gooseneck, or the Anderson Ultimate setup. My question is different. Have any of you used the Gooseneck to 5th Wheel adapters such as the B&W or Curt...

    My New (To Me) Truck

Still learning about this truck. It appears someone upgraded to a one-piece rear driveshaft - So that's cool.

Yeah, my 2003 that I traded in had 260k. They go a long ways.

    My New (To Me) Truck

So I made a little upgrade over the weekend. Traded off my 2003 Ram 2500 for this 2009 Ram 3500 dually - Pretty clean truck, has a few issues, but it's a 14 year old used vehicle. 6.7 Cummins diesel, 4x4, 6-speed manual. It currently has a gooseneck in the bed, I'll be looking to get some 5th...

    Toilet Replacement

So, just a small update on this one. I assumed it was the Thetford just based on internet images. I was wrong. And, as my luck would have it, I figured this out after ordering the Thetford ball valve seal replacement kit and tearing the top of the toilet off. Apparently my unit has a Dometic 110...

Thanks, that's what I was assuming. Just wanted to confirm it can be done without major surgery. (y)

    Toilet Replacement

Hey gang, I've got a 2008 Cyclone 4012 and I believe it has the Thetford toilet in it with the ball valve that never holds water. My question is fairly simple, is it possible to replace this toilet with a Dometic toilet? Are the bases a standard mount? Or is this more complex than a simple...

    Possible Slide Leak When Retracted?

Yeah, makes sense. I'm still unsure exactly how the seals mount. I didn't want to poke at them too much without having something ready to replace them with, just because there's a chance I could mess them up more than they already are. It appears they mount in some sort of channel. Are the wiper...

    Possible Slide Leak When Retracted?

Okay, just a quick update on this. I got a chance to get up there and take a look. Appears there was a big clump of pine needles and such wedged in the outer seal. We had slid the slide out and that clump was basically keeping the remaining section of seal flipped the wrong way. I cleared the...

    Possible Slide Leak When Retracted?

I guess I should also ask, should we be storing it with the slides in or out?

    Possible Slide Leak When Retracted?

Hey guys, I've got a 2008 Cyclone 4012. We've owned it for a few years now and have not had a problem with the slides...yet. We had it parked most of this winter, along side our house like always, with all three slides retracted. We've always stored it with the slides retracted like that and...

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

Well, I bought 4 extra nuts, so of course the first one went right on with no problems! :ROFLMAO: The answer was to clamp the nut in a pair of vice grips, hold that against the end of the bolt and luckily my fingers were small enough to be able to spin the head of the bolt at the other end and...

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

I got a new bolt up in there, but getting a nut started on it has proved to be problematic. I ended up dropping the nut and it fell down inside this "frame rail" part at the front. With no way to access that area, my nut is gone forever. I went back to the cut bolt and managed to pull that nut...

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

Thanks Bill, The square shoulder end was not holding in the square hole side of the bracket. It was just dangling there, by the end with the nut on it. You could wiggle the whole leg, so it wasn't tight by any means. That's why I set it on the 6 ton jack stand, because I was concerned about the...

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

The square shoulder was installed in the square hole. But it sheered off just the cap head and left the square shoulder on the shaft. With the lock nut on the other end, it's proving to be problematic. I really don't want to cut the trailer apart to get at it. If I have to cut a hole, it'll be...

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

Thanks Bill, I was able to reach it with a long pair of pliers. But the problem I ran into here was that the end with the square "shoulder" won't pull through the hole at the threaded side, because that hole is round, not square. And I can't get ahold of it to take the locking nut off the...

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

Yes, that is correct. Here is a shot of the bolt - As you can see (sort of) the cap head is sheered off. Here's a shot of the "hole" that leg comes through - For the life of me I can't see a way to get access to it to replace it. As I said, this is the one "behind" the generator.

Broken Bolt On Landing Gear Leg

Hey gang, So I've got a pretty serious problem on my 2008 Cyclone 4012. This is also a good reminder to NEVER loan your RV out. I own this trailer and an enclosed car trailer and literally every time I loan one of them out it comes back broken. Like they said back in that D.A.R.E. campaign...

    Cyclone Fresh Water Tank

Thanks David, I'll give that a shot. But how does one go about doing that? Isn't the vent hose pretty much hidden in a cavity? I can see the outlet end of it, but the rest is hidden, right? Can I just stick an air hose in the outlet end and give it a blow without hurting anything? Or is that a...

    Cyclone Fresh Water Tank

Hey guys, Headed back home after out first actual big camping trip. We dry camped for 4 days. So when we stopped on our way to fill the fresh water tank, I assumed I got it full because it started overflowing at the fill port. So I pulled the hose out and it started basically belching water out...

    Bedroom AC Unit Stinks........BAD!

Bill, I think you are right. After doing a few more "tests" it seems to be cycling up and down, switching from what sounds like a high run fan to a low run fan and back, over and over. It's enough to cause the generator to bog down when it cycles, and it just keeps doing it over and over. I can...

    Bedroom AC Unit Stinks........BAD!

No, I installed one of those Camco Cyclone vent caps a while back and the pipe appeared to have no gap in it. I'm baffled as to how the smell from the tank would get in the roof framing when it appears to be a solid tube from tank to top. 🤷‍♂️

    Bedroom AC Unit Stinks........BAD!

Okay, resurrecting what was kind of a zombie thread, but not really, lol. It's been basically 2 years now and I'm still fighting this smelly AC unit. So, as posted in my last update: I've had the top off the unit. There are no critters, dead or alive, in there. There was no leaves in there...

    Wobbly Dining Table Fixes?

It has to come down when traveling, the slide slides over the top of the leg sockets. So there is NO "leaving it up when traveling".

Portable Grill - Barbecue Recommendations Please

We had an RVQ with our last trailer and it worked very well. It clipped onto the side of the RV in a little surface mounted channel and hooked to teh trailer propane - I'm actually very sad that we let it go with the trailer when we sold that unit. I should have kept it.

Propane leaking from passenger side regulator

Wait, there's a selector switch? Where?!?!? o_O Seriously, we bought our unit used and nobody showed us anything about it at all, other than "here's your keys, we close the gate in 10 minutes". I've been swapping my tanks from one side to the other because I thought there was a problem with the...

    Wobbly Dining Table Fixes?

Hey guys, so I've got my beloved 2008 Cyclone 4012, and the dining table is super wobbly. It's a typical 3-post setup and for whatever reason it just never stays put. I've replaced some of the cups due to them being broken when I got the unit, but it's still wobbly and often comes loose and...

    Quick Question On "Winterizing"....

Appreciate all the input gang. So I guess I'm curious what people who either live full time in an RV or use them in the "off season" do then. I guess they must winterize them every evening after dinner, huh?

    Quick Question On "Winterizing"....

Okay, maybe not so quick. More of a discussion than a question too. Maybe my topic is way off. :p So here's the thing gang. I've got a 2008 4012. My understanding is that the plumbing is all contained inside the underbelly cavity, not "exposed" to the elements. We live in the PNW, where it's...
