    Waste Drainage Problems

On our Road Warrior, the kitchen sink has it's own grey water tank. The access door is located toward the rear of the trailer on the "off door" side. When you open the little access door you will see the pull handle back in there. Gently pull the handle out and you should be emptying the tank.

Question for you Ford 6.0 PSD

That sounds good. I always like to keep it around 55mph-60mph max, with cold tire pressure at the max rating listed on the tire itself. I've read a bunch of articles from "RV Experts" saying not to exceed 60mph in order to prevent possible tire problems.

Question for you Ford 6.0 PSD

wingfoot, I do not have a Ford F250 but I do have a Dodge 3500 dually. I always use the Tow/Haul option when pulling heavy loads. The Tow/Haul feature is supposed to work with the transmission to ensure that proper gear selection is occuring. My question to you is, what do you consider...

    Slide out toppers....Yes or No

Over the Labor Day weekend, we went camping for 3 days on the Northshore (Lake Pontchartrain) during Tropical Storm Lee. In our location we received an average of 4" of rain a day (1' total) and experienced wind gusts up to 40mph. The slide toppers helped to keep the water off the top of the 2...

    Diesel or Gas?

My advice to you, go with a diesel truck. Your fuel mileage will increase and if you ever decide (down the road) to purchase a bigger trailer, you will already have a strong tow vehicle.

Jacks for slideout..should you buy them and use them?

IMHO, do not use jacks for the slide outs. Also, if you are going to be away from your campsite for a few days it would be a good idea to run the slides in. Better safe than sorry.

    Landmark Question

lvstotrvl, the RV market is really kind of strange. Folks are always buying, selling, tradeing up, tradeing down, etc. Some people decide after 9 or 10 months that they want a bigger unit or a smaller unit. Others buy a unit, then decide they don't like the "camping thing" anymore. And of...

    RVing for Dummies

Dave, your joke about that really makes me laugh. Reminds me of the first time I ever backed a 5th wheel into a campsite. Does this look right to you??

I agree with you 100%. I know that rust is a natural occuring issue that we all have to deal with, but you should not have to deal with it in a brand new expensive 5th wheel. The mindset of "it's ok, don't worry about it" does not go far with me. If you just bought a brand new 2011 Cadillac...

    Fuel - It's Happening Again

I agree. If we produce more U.S. oil then we could help solve 2 problems. Putting a bunch of folks back to work with good paying jobs and lower the prices at the pump for everyone. Fuel prices are bad now, just wait until we see the price of food go up like we've never seen before. It is...

    Fuel - It's Happening Again

Diesel prices at the pump are around $3.80 in Louisiana right now. It's kind of strange that fuel prices are this high here since plenty of oil is sitting right off the coast and refineries are all over this great state. The Ultimate Self Defense Weapon for the RV and Home

That is one mean looking shotgun. I really like the size and shape of the weapon. I'll have to do the research and see if it will also be available in a 20 gauge model. Those 12's in such a small package sometimes go wild with the "kick". Thanks for the post on it.

    Tow vehicles

tommigb2, in my opinion, if you are planning on towing a 16,000lb trailer then go with a 1 ton dually. Rolling back and forth across these highways and interstates while doing 60mph with these heavy rigs is serious business. Always be sure to have the proper tool (tow vehicle) to perform the job.

Will my "dirty" generator harm my appliances?

When using a generator for power, always monitor your cycles and voltage. The cycles will fluctuate but should be close to 60 hz.
