Hello to all - Havent posted in quite a while but read a lot here. We have a 2011 Sundance 2800RL that I had a small leak in the rear slideout corner. Since repaired but the paneling inside is buckled right at the floor. Wondered if anyone knew if this is available to purchase, or should I...
Hey all - We are looking to replace the blow up air mattress with a regular pull out style sofa sleeper. My wife wants to try to match the material ( or get close). Anyone done this? The air mattress is a lot more work than the old pullout sofa sleeper & I see a lot of the newer rigs are going...
Is there carpet or linoleum on top? If carpet you should be able to pull it back in a corner & take a look. Linoleum would have to be cut. Either way the wood will have to be replaced if it is spongy or rotten. More than that you need to find where the water was coming in. Ours had to have an...
Re: ATF: Sundance - Fresh tank wont fill
I forgot to mention that after re-routing the fill hose I cut about 6" off of it as it was going around one of the heater supply pipes & it did'nt need to be. Do you guys think that the vent line may be too long and trapping water ? I need to go out &...
Hey all- We went camping last weekend & had trouble filling the fresh water holding tank. Couldnt get more than about 15 gallons in it. So we got to our spot & got set up, and I pulled the access door in the front pass thru. Found the fill hose kinked badly next to furnace. Disconnected same &...
When it wasnt cooling could you hear compressor kicking in. On ours the fan starts first & then a few seconds later the compressor kicks in. Almost sounds like you have a loose connectiuon in the unit feeding the compressor. Maybe the ride home jarred it & it might work ok. Like said by the...
To OP - My 2 cents - I think they should stand behind it & fix it, if this was an ongoing problem & never repaired correctly by the dealership. Was it returned to the dealership where purchased for the repair?
I am looking at a level master jumbo level with bracket. Just wondered if these are mountable with the plastic pin box cover ? Thanks in advance for any help. Bill
Re: ATF: Sundance - Sundance trailer is a fire hazard
Looks like somebody did'nt have their thinking cap on . Definately a design flaw. With that plastic door down which is the way it is supposed to be when you are using it , & the w/h running in gas mode it probably melted that door within a...
I posted a thread a couple weeks ago & noticed it was moved - Cant find it- Where do they go & why was it moved? Just curious if I did something wrong ?
I replaced mine about 6 months ago - It was cracked in the corners at the screws & the cracks were running up the skylight. Not too bad a job. Main thing is to get all the old sealant off & clean good. Also dont overtighten the screws. Be careful using a battery drill to tighten them. The...
Re: ATF: Sundance - Add on A/C in bedroom
Will do - Only problem right now is I cant find a unit with 5-6000 btu. 9k is the smallest ive been able to find & this will probably be too much. I'll post details when I get it figured out. I did close off the hall vent (above t-stat completely &...
Re: ATF: Sundance - Add on A/C in bedroom
Thanks Dave -Thats a great idea - I might even try to fish the wire down inside the ceiling & wall - I have one of those snake boro scopes I use at work, so when I pull the existing ceiling vent I'm hoping I can sneak the wire in thru the ceiling &...
Anyone have a second a/c added to bedroom ? My 2011 Sundance 2800RL is wired for 30 amp so I know additional wiring would have to be run externally but just curious if anyone else has done this to their rig. Thanks, Bill
We have a different model but ours has a small hole where there is a ratchet mechanism. If u look there should be a drive handle for it in the storage compartment, (ours did when new) Hav'nt had to use it yet though - Thankfully
John - That should help but if the carpet is wet then the plywood underneath it will probably get wet & mold also, if it is an ongoing problem. Might call the factory & run it past a tech.
Have you checked the gaskets outside - If they are in good shape there shouldnt be any water inside. We had water come in ours once during very heavy rain while driving 70 mph on highway when rig was still in warranty & the dealer installed an extra gasket(splash guard) on the bottom of the main...
Anybody had to replace their sliding closet door catchs in the bedroom- Just over a year & the one broke & the other one is about to crack off. Anyone found a well made replacement( not the plastic junk that comes stock). Thanks, Bill
Just an update- I called the Sundance factory & they asked me to measure the window & yesterday I received new glazing, enough to do the whole window, at no charge. Took me about 20 minutes to re-do the whole window. Reps to the factory for their quick response and attentive attitude to my...
Called the Heartland factory & was told it is called glazing but she did'nt know where to get it as they buy the windows as a one piece unit. Told me to try Camping World & they dont have it either. Basically no help at all. Can anyone from Sundance help me ? My rv is only about six weeks out...
I had a section come loose on mine also - I used clear silicone & propped it in place with pieces of 1x2 for a couple hours till it set up . Dont need much silicone .- Seems to be holding good.
We have a 2011- 2800RL that is just a few months out of warranty & a small piece of the black rubber trim on the outside picture window fell off. I called the dealer where we bought the rv & they didnt know the name of the trim. I was going to try to get it at a closer dealer to save gas for...
Take a 12 volt light bulb testor & check i They cost about 3 dollars - I dont think I would hook 110 volts to a 12 volt fan -You might cook the motor & they wont warrant that. If you suspect it is 110 & dont have a testor - u can use a known working floor lamp or radio & just touch one wire to...
How big a area is stained? Could you take a piece from under the bed or somewhere it wont be noticed & have a carpet layer cut a piece in. We did this in our basement a couple years ago. Cant even tell it's there. Good Luck
Re: ATF: Sundance - stiff cords
We have a 25' extension cord for our rig & when its cold out we just use the extension. Only have to pull out enough cord to make the connection at the rear of the rig.
Bigbob- After reading thru this thread I am curious if you measured the water in the first time that you filled the holding tank? I was thinking maybe with the drain in the holding tank not being on the bottom your fresh water tank , it already has 10 gallons in it when u start filling, which...
I drilled 2 holes thru base of my bedroom flatscreen pedestal then mark the wood shelf. Drilled all the way thru that. Got some long machine screws, washers and nuts and permanized it. If u want it to be removable,as some folks like to take them outside, put a washer and nut on top of the shelf(...
Picked up our new Sundance 2800RL a couple weeks ago & we love it. Had it out for a 3 dayer & it rained pretty much non stop. Good news is - no leaks and all worked well. I was wondering (As I am a maintenance freak) if there were zerk fittings on the wheel bearings. There are caps on the center...
We recently ordered a new coach (2011 Sundance) & salesman told us they don't use formaldehyde in the new ones. Don't know for sure if this is true or not.
Thanks for all the quick replies- Hopefully our 2800RL will be in, in the next week or so - Getting anxious - Sold the old tt so we are camperless for the time being.
