When I winterized my 3010 to leave North Dakota it was dark and I just flipped the switch in the water heater cabinet to the down (I presumed off) position when i drained it out. It sat cold over Christmas for 3 weeks and when I set it up in Kansas yesterday I realized that it was actually in...
Is there a valve somewhere that would allow me to turn off all water flow to both the cold and hot water lines that go to the front closet for the washer/dryer? We're not fulltimers, and will likely never have a washer/dryer in our trailer.
Unfortunately, with the lines there and active, I have...
I recently purchased a NorthTrail 31QBS (first TT) and have a few questions regarding the Hot Water Heater. Can't remember everything that the dealer showed me during the walk-through.
How do you get water into the hot water heater tank?
Should the bypass WH be on or off if using...
Please tell me where the low point water drains are located on a '09 3055RLS. I have looked in all the outside compartments and under the trailer. It does not get cold enough long enough down here to bother putting anti-freeze into the system.
Thanks
Jim
HI everyone,
I need some advice. Tonight due to the prediction of freezing weather I disconnected my incoming water(at inlet & from park). I checked my fresh water tank and it indicated 1/3 full of fresh water and I also checked the tank by opening the drain and water came out indicating I had...
I need a new one , I blew check valve when I winterized rig, anyone know how or what they are attached to on the back side of molding? mine is not here at home so I can not look, plus to cold if it was, would it be best to get same kind from heartland to replace? thanks
I am looking at Watts filters (double) to clean some of the water coming into our 5er and then one at the kitchen faucet to make the water a little better tasting. The pipes in RVs seem to take on a taste of thier own. Is this the best thing to do or is there a better solution?? I am also...
We will be traveling to a warmer climate this winter from Michigan. No doubt we will be stopping at CG along the way that may have the water during the day or even have the site water turned off. We would like to use our fresh water holding tank at night, but are concerned with the fresh water...
We too woke up to no water, but don't think that the tank is frozen. I drained the tank and the water ran out freely and I refilled it only to still have the pump run with no water coming from the tank. Put a heater in the area for two days plus it's been above freezing for over 24 hours so...
Howdy All,
We are camping in Williams and it is very cold. We ran the furnace all night it is warm enough inside to run around in your skivvies. The furnace is set to 68-70+ and still our fresh water tank has froze now what do we do. The pump just runs and runs and we have no water. The temp...
28BHS water lines under sink -- flooding due to cold weather -- the hoses themselves did not burst but the plastic connectors did. We have tried several places but cannot find replacement hoses long enough. Where can we find 60 inch hoses that will work?
We will be traveling from Michigan to Arizona in January. Even if we follow the warmer southern routes we will have a few nights below freezing. While we will be heating the BH 3055RL while traveling and at night, I am concerned about the fresh water drain valve hanging down below the...
Greetings! I am looking for some guidance. First, I am fairly handy. I have a 2010 BC 3550 TSL. Last week the nipple from the hot side of the water heater was leaking. Followed owners manual and attempted to tighten. Unfortunatley, it is a plastic nipple into the steel tank. You guessed...
We are having a pretty good rainstorm going on right now and I have water running down the inside of my wall:eek: in the cabinet just above the desk. The water is just like a river running down the wall:eek::mad:. It looks like it may be coming from the factory installed antenna that is...
Hi All,
Last week when I filled my fresh water tank on my 2800RLS in preparation for going on a dry camping trip, I noticed water leaking up around the base of the blue and red hoses that come down on the door side of the rig just aft of the rear wheel. First, what are these blue and red...
We have a 2009 Sundance 2900mk.
Yesterday I found 3 torn slide seals with all the other seals starting to crack and when I crawled underneath our unit I also noticed lots of rust. I'm now in the process of ordering replacement seals for all the slideouts and getting rust paint to repair the...
After poking around in the basement I noticed a puddle of water lying on top of the furnace. Has anyone else had this type of problem with water on the furnace. Almost got my leak fixed on one of the winterizing valves. I wonder why brass fittings are not used when going into brass. Seems...
A few weeks ago I posted my problem with a water leak from a cracked shower skylight. On good advice from Jim B. and others, I contacted Heartland Customer Service on a Friday morning and requested that they review the pictures of the cracked skylight that I had posted. The name of the service...
I looked around a little bit but couldn't find any threads about the hot water tank leaking. Has anyone had this problem? Because I do. The leak is coming from the cold water inlet I can see it drip from there. I drainded the hot water tank and took off the fitting and put some teflon tape on it...
A couple of days ago I submitted the following post:

I had found a water line that was not connected to anything in the basement of our BC. Looking the system over......I thought I knew how to correct the problem. Just in case.....I turned to the...
When I try to fill my fresh water tank, I can only get a little over 1/3 full, then it won't accept anymore. I was able to fill it all the way in the past. I have a 2008 Big Horn 3400RL. Any ideas why this is happening?
While investigating a wet storage compartment on our last trip.......I discovered that a line coming from the "Winterizing Valve" was not connected to anything! I also discovered that one side of the "tee" had nothing connected to it!
The way my BC is currently plumbed.....I see no way that...
I believe it might have been brought up before, but I'll bring it up again. As mentioned in another thread, it is a good idea to shut off the water supply when leaving the trailer, but wouldn't it be nice to have a simple switch by the door to do this. I found the WaterCop that would do exactly...
Has anyone modified the drain valve for fresh water tank on 2010 Bighorn 3055 RL. Trying to extend drain hose to side of RV so I do not have to crawl under RV to drain tank.
I just bought a 2010 2900mk before winter used one weekend and had to winterize it because of cold temps.Very easy to winterize the lines but to get the water out of the black tank and fresh tank was something else.Took it to the dump station washed the black out and drained it.Had the fresh...
Found and fixed two minor leaks this weekend. Both were new and I'm sure caused from the less than smooth ride down I-95/295/64 on Friday. Had a small drip coming into the basement. Traced it to the shower pan. Needed recaulking between the walls and pan. Second problem was under the...
Was wondering whether anyone may be able to help out. The hot water heater isn't working on electric. I have checked the circuit breaker and there is power coming out of it, but there is no power at the on-off switch for the electric water heater. Is there anything between the two that could...
We bought a 2009 Repo,ed Bighorn 3670RL and have no manuals other than the generic one off the web. When you hook up to city water with a hose, can the water be left on, or does it just fill the tank?
This is on a 2009 Sundance ..last trip I noticed when using house water & leaving pump switch on ..if you use no water after 2 or 3 or so hours the pumps will kick on for just a couple of seconds. I do not recall this on previous trips. Air in lines moving arround from prevous draining ? or...
Good day everyone, I have a question regarding the hot water heater. I own a 28BH with the 6gallon DSI. I was told by the dealer that it is best to use the heater on Gass? And that I should not use the electric option. My question is this.... how many of you use the electric mode? also...

2009 3250 BC - After camping for two weeks had several leaks spring up this past weekend. All occured at the end of our trip. One morning about 1/2-inch of water was standing in our storage compartment. Was not there the day before. We were able to find a leak behind the black panel and repair...

Does anyone know what the maximum water pressure is that the HL plumbing will safely handle?? I'm adding an adjustable pressure regulator and want to make sure that it is not set too high.
I would check my HL manuals........but they are in the RV.......in storage.
Thanks.

We just finished our wettest campout, 4 days and nights of continuous rain or mist. On second day I heard a water drip every 5 seconds or so, and found the leak from the shower skylight, dripping off a screw from the skylight trim piece. I was not too bothered as the water just dripped down...
Anybody have an idea where the water pump is on a 2009 3600RE. Ours is pulsating when we open a faucet. I think I probably have a leak in the suction line going to the pump.
