2008 28rls

Hello, this is our first post. We recently purchased a 2008 28RLS back in March. When we first looked at it, it felt as if the floor next to the kitchen slide was soft. The dealer assured us that this was part of the design as Heartland didn't put floor stringers over the holding tanks. We have become increasingly concerned with this because we noticed that a piece of the fiberglass on the bottom of the slide broke off this past weekend while we were camping. After looking at it closer, the wood frame of the slide under the broken fiberglass appeared to be rotting. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the soft area over the holding tanks? The floor before and after the tanks is solid. We are afraid that the dealer played us for suckers. Thanks in advance.

It is possible that the previous owner never checked and replaced/repaired any of the caulking that is required on all trailers. This will cause water intrusion and will cause lots of hidden damage and wood rot.
