our attendance

Very disappointed to say that Carol and I will not be attending to rally after all. I had a knee replacement last week so I have canceled our reservation. My son Dave tried every which way to get me to have surgery at a different time. I wanted attend a great deal but this timing of the surgery was best for us. I will miss seeing many of you that I have come to know as well as making new friends. These six to eight weeks with no camping might put me over the edge. But I was tired of a hurting knee so we hope this fixes that. Maybe I will see some of you at Iowa campouts later this year or in Florida next winter.

Re: our attendance

Gary - we will miss you but your health is more important. Take it e-z and do what the physical therapist says and you will be on the quick road of recovery.

Re: our attendance

Too bad you won't be able to make it, but like Nathan said, do what the doc says. The voice of experience is speaking, I've had a broken hip, (motorcycle accident) plus 2 hip replacements. The replacements started a new life for me, I feel 30 years younger...at least with the hips!

RALLY UPDATE

Note: This email is going out to all Registered Rally Attendees. If you’re unable to make the rally and haven’t had a chance to cancel your registration, kindly visit this link to log in and cancel your registration. If you’re unable to log in to cancel your registration, Visit this link to email the Club Manager, Julie Hancock and she will cancel your rally registration and process any applicable refund. If you registered directly with the Fairgrounds for any camping prior to the pre-rally or following the rally, you’ll need to cancel those nights with the Fairgrounds directly (574-533-3247). If your travel partner has his/her own email account, kindly forward this email to them so they have their own copy of the update.

Hi Jim,

We're just less than a month away from the big one - the 10th Annual North American Heartland Owners Rally! The purpose of this email is to give you an update on the rally. If you have questions, I hope this email will answer them. If not, please check all the helpful articles on the Rally Portal (link). If you don’t see the answers you need there, please ask on the forum in the rally discussion thread (link).

FIRST-TIME “GOSHEN” RALLY ATTENDEES
Is this your very first Goshen rally? We’re holding a “First-timer Orientation Meeting” on the day before the rally starts. If this is your first Goshen rally and you’d like to get a good sense of what to expect and to ask questions, please join us on Monday, June 15[SUP]th[/SUP] at 1:00 pmin the Rally Hall (ECCC Building). Wear your club badges and bring your rally agendas and a pen. Plan on about an hour or so for this meeting. Visit this link to see the flier for this meeting.

GETTING TO THE ELKHART COUNTY 4H FAIRGROUNDS - GOSHEN, IN
Here’s a Google Maps link to "GATE 1" at the Fairgrounds where you can add your own starting point. For your own GPS, you may use this address: 1772 E Monroe St, Goshen, IN.

Note: The above is NOT the address to the Fairgrounds office. It's an address that corresponds to Gate 1 where we will enter with our RVs. DO NOT send mail to this map address.

SENDING YOUR MAIL AND PACKAGES TO THE VENUE
Do you need to have mail or package forwarded to you during the rally? If so, please address your mail as follows:
Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds
your name
Heartland Rally
17746-D CR 34
Goshen, IN 46528

RALLY CHECK-IN (UPON YOUR ENTRY THROUGH GATE 1 WITH YOUR RV)Proceed south on the road from Gate 1 until you reach our Check-In team at Gate A. If you’re arriving after 5 pm, we need you to phone Kevin Wolbeck (757-406-4561) at some point during the day to give him a sense of your arrival time. Kevin will advise you as to whether he feels he can get you parked or whether you need to hold up at the check-in area until morning. The Check-In team will know what site/area you are registered for. They will give you your rally bag. Rally bags contain the Pre-Rally and Rally Agendas, Seminar Guides, Heartland Marketplace Guide, Tickets to any activities you registered for, Rally T-Shirts and other rally related items. A rally decal will be placed on the front cap of your coach. This indicates to our teams and the venue that you’re checked into our system. A parking team member will then escort you to your site. Should you need assistance getting parked in your site, kindly ask your escort to assist you.

SITES
When the Check-In team takes you to your site, they may give you specific instructions on how far to push back, which way to angle your coach etc. Please adhere to these instructions. This will help ensure the preservation of all sites and won’t start a chain reaction of ill-parked coaches. Remember to bring adequate lengths of power cord, water hose and sewer hose as all utilities are behind the RV, usually by several feet. If your power cord reel or connection is near the rear of the coach, you should be okay for power without the need for any extension. As water and power are generally at about the mid-point of the coach, it’s likely you’ll need “up to” 40 feet of water and sewer hose. Please plan accordingly.

SUBSEQUENT ENTRY/EXIT TO/FROM THE VENUE
We plan to use Gate 1 ONLY for arrivals with RVs. Once your RV is parked, you may enter and exit the venue from any gate that is convenient - except Gate 1 (the RV entry gate). In order to keep the dust down that comes off the road between Gate 1 and Gate A and blows into the camping areas, we kindly ask that you do not transit the road in/out of Gate 1 with your truck - even if your site (South, Ring Road etc.) is near it. Please go up Locust or Maple Streets andout the main gate (#2) to Monroe Street (CR-34).

GOLF CART
For attendees that have registered for a Golf Cart, rentals start on the day the cart was rented for. You are charged on a full-day basis only, regardless of the time of delivery. Golf cart rental periods start no earlier than 10 am on the first day of rental. Golf carts will be delivered to your site. Golf carts and keys must be turned in to an area to be designated, not later than 10 pm the last day of rental. Rentals endSaturday night, June 20. Please remove any trash and personal property from the cart prior to returning it. In some cases, we will be issuing 2-passenger carts. When attendees registered for carts, there was no advertisement of or promise made for 4-passenger carts. As it turns out, we were unable to get 100% 4-passenger carts. As such, some rentals will be 2-passenger carts. If you get assigned a 2-passenger cart and would prefer to cancel, we will not issue you your cart and will refund your rental fee and attempt to rent that cart to someone on the waiting list.

If you have not checked out the Documents article (link) on the Rally Portal (link), below is list of links to the most-needed rally documents. RALLY UPDATE

PRE-RALLY ACTIVITIES
If you’re joining us for one or more Pre-Rally days, be sure to check the Pre-Rally Agenda to see if you have an interest in any planned Pre-Rally activities. Also consider visiting points of interest in the Northern Indiana Area (link) or the many museums in nearby Dekalb County (link). There will also be an Amish Country Magazine in your rally packet. In the magazine is information on what’s happening in Amish Country in the area.

PRE-RALLY APPETIZER MEET AND GREET
Sunday, June 14[SUP]th[/SUP] at 3:00 pm - Nelson’s Pavilion (on Locust Street, south of the clock tower) – See the flier at this link for details.

PRE-RALLY WINEGARD RAYZAR DEMONSTRATION / GIVEAWAY
Monday, June 15[SUP]th[/SUP] at 3:00 pm - Nelson’s Pavilion (on Locust Street, south of the clock tower) - Bring a chair and a drink to the Nelson’s Pavilion on Locust Street and see a demonstration of Winegard’s new Fully-Automatic Over-The-Air HD Antenna - Rayzar. Signup at the demonstration for a drawing where Winegard will give away a Rayzar. Click this link for the flier.

MINOR RALLY SERVICE WORK
The check-in team will keep the service team updated each day as rally attendees arrive. If you signed up for service work, the service team will attempt to reach you to take care of your service items. If you have not pre-registered for minor rally service work, please check-in with the service desk in the NW camping section upon your arrival. As it is too late for parts to be ordered for you, best efforts will be made to take care of up to two adjustments only (no parts).

RALLY T-SHIRT EXCHANGE (FOR SIZE)
Try on your rally t-shirts to check sizing as soon as you get them. We’ll have a very small number of extra shirts. If you need to swap yours for a different size, don’t wear it, keep it clean and call Dave Hromek for a possible exchange (262-707-3687) or bring it to the Rally Hall during the rally, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday evenings. Dave will do his best to facilitate a swap from whatever stock we might have left.

PRE-RALLY GOLF OUTING
Did you know that a Pre-Rally Golf Outing has been organized? Texas-North Chapter Leader, Dave Seabolt has organized an outing forMonday, June 15th. If you’re interested in signing up, visit this link.

RV CARPET CLEANING
How’s your RV carpet looking? Does it need to be cleaned while you’re at the rally? Contact Tyson’s Carpet Cleaning to make your appointment - 574-533-5036. Visit this link to see their flier.

RV and TRUCK WASHING and WAXING
How about your RV and Truck? Do you want to have them washed and waxed during the rally? Contact AALL Brite RV Cleaning to make your appointment – by phone 352-212-6494 or sign-up online (link). For more information, visit this link to see their flier.

RV WEIGHT – DO YOU KNOW YOURS?
Maybe it’s time to have the rig weighed. Especially if you’ve never had it done. Shane and Jami Hess, representing the RVSEF, will be on-site performing rig weighing and putting on an RV Tire and Weight Safety seminar. While not required it is recommended that you to sign up for a rig weighing slot. Kindly visit this sign up link.

SEMINARS AND PRESENTATIONS
We have scheduled 17 technical and 21 lifestyle seminars and presentations. In order to pre-plan your rally time, consider taking some time to review the Seminar, Presentations and Meetings schedule at this link. Consider attending at least 3 of these seminars and presentations. If the ones you attend are Door Prize seminars or presentations, a door prize ticket will be given to you during the seminar with a drawing at the end. Learn something – and possibly win something!

MY RV KITCHEN, INDUCTION COOKING and CONVECTION COOKING
Three of the 21 lifestyle seminars are all about your RV kitchen and how to get the most out of it. Not sure about Induction Cooking? Come to the seminar and demo. Haven’t embraced your Convection Oven yet? Come to the seminar and demo. Visit this link to review the seminar schedule.

DOOR PRIZES, ACTIVITY PRIZES AND SEMINAR PRIZES
While all rally attendees are already winners just because they can enjoy the RV lifestyle, some of you will be lucky enough to win Door Prizes at the rally. Wednesday night will be our main door prize drawing night. If your name is drawn, you must be in the Rally Hall in order to claim your prize - otherwise a new name will be drawn. We’ll save back some larger items and hold our Grand Door Prize drawing Friday night after dinner.

HEARTLAND MARKETPLACE – WHAT IS IT?
It’s fancy-speak for Vendor Hall. Each year, I invite a small group of hand-selected vendors to vend with us. How many and who vends with us is a function of location of the rally, the size of the vendor hall and the availability of the vendors. Please consult your Heartland Marketplace Guide (link), then plan to stop by the Heartland Marketplace (indoors and outdoors locations) a few times betweenTuesday and Friday during the rally to see some cool product and new RVs.

MEMBER TO MEMBER - FOR SALE TABLE
We’ll have a few tables available to all rally attendees in the Heartland Marketplace (Sheep-Swine Arena). These tables will allow you to sell small RV or related items directly to other attendees. Please don’t bring any large items for the table and don’t bring a large number of items. We need to be fair to all who have something to sell by being respectful of the amount of space we’ll have. You will not need to stay at this table, but you must tag your items using the tags provided in your rally packet on the reverse side of the For Sale document. You may bring your items as early as Monday, June 15[SUP]th[/SUP] (during vendor load-in) to place them on the table. You need to remove your unsold items not later than 4 pm on Friday. Items left behind will have to be discarded.

CLUB BRANDED ITEMS FOR SALE
Janice at Martin Marketing will be selling club branded items and she’ll take orders for custom embroidered items. If you’re looking for some club goodies, bring cash-only and check out this table in the vendor hall.

DISPLAY COACHES
Tiara RV Sales (and possibly another dealer) plans to bring several display coaches. We hope to have the coaches set up before the rally starts. The dealer(s) should have personnel on-hand to give quotes on the new RV of your dreams! Display coaches will be in the outdoor vending area south of the clock tower.

NEW COACH “RALLY” REBATE
Any Heartland Owners Club member who registers and attends the rally and trades for a new, never-titled Heartland, either at the rally or shortly thereafter, from the dealer of their choice, may be eligible for a rebate from Heartland. See details in the Rebate document (link) in your rally packet.

WE HAVE A DJ!
Our DJ will be spinning Solid Gold Hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s on Friday night. Link to Entertainment Guide.

WE HAVE A BAND!
Do you like the music of The Beatles? If you do, stick around after dinner on Saturday night for The Cavern Beat! Link to Entertainment Guide. Link to Cavern Beat videos.

NO POTLUCK – WHAT?
While it’s traditional that each year at this rally, we host an ever-growing potluck dinner, it’s time to give it a rest. Our group size versus our rally hall size is such that it’s getting too difficult. If we change buildings in 2017, the potluck may return.

CHECK-OUT
Unless you’ve made other arrangements directly with the Fairgrounds, or have registered with us for Sunday night, June 21, please plan to vacate your site by noon on Sunday, June 21[SUP]st[/SUP]

Do you have questions? Read through the documents at the links in the Rally Documents item above and check the FAQ on the Rally Portal at this link. Finally, post your question in the Goshen Rally Discussion thread on the forum at this link.

See you in Goshen!

Re: 2015 Goshen Rally - Update

If anyone wanted a Ring Road spot the one I had is open now. Spot 314. I was able to get a Northwest spot after all and added an extra night, we should be rolling in Saturday afternoon/evening.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple weeks!

Re: 2015 Goshen Rally - Update

When is the last day to make changes to.our reservation?
We think we may be able to come a day early, but won't know until possibly right up to the day before. Wayne will be working up to and even on the day we pull out, we just don't know when he will get done on the job.
If the last day to.change has passed before we know, will there be an option to pay the 25$ at the gate for early entry? We have used our best guess on when we can leave to try to avoid having to cancel one or even possibly two nights of pre-rally.

Please advise and thanks for all the hard work being done.

Anita - no problem for you to come a day early and don't worry about changing it online, since your situation is real fluid. Show up and we'll take care of billing each evening for early arrivals.

Marketplace Link

Oopsie - thanks to my friend to the north (Mike T), I found out I had listed the 2014 link for the Heartland Marketplace in the Rally email that was sent out.

I've fixed the link in a copy of the email listed in this thread. And for the curious, here's a link to the 2015 Heartland Marketplace Guide.

Cannot find/remember when we wear the rally shirts.
Is it the factory tour for the picture or to one of the dinners(Friday or Saturday), or both?
